Is it actually 1000W, or equivalent to 1000W non-LED light?

Some folks say 30W per sq ft for LED is appropriate. You’d need ~1500W for a 7x7 by those values.

That said, I’m drunk and smoking a blunt, so ignore 98.76185% of what I say 😛

Tho, you can stuff 9 of those 5 gallon buckets in a 4x4, so depending on how you set them up, you might be fine.

The plants are in a 5x5 zone with a foot of clearance around them and it said it drew 1000watts and the ppfd looked right

it says actual power

It would if it does what it says. Problem is a lot of these off brands don't do what they say and the warranty is a hastle. Even Mars Hydro lights took me over a year to get a replacement pcb. Like the previous poster said it's short for a 7ft tent but a 5/5 it would cover.

2.5g a watt …baahahahahahahahahah.bwaaaaahahahhahahahahaha. They better let go of it before it falls off 😆

I run 4 x Sonofarm 4000K in a 4x8x80". Measured wattage at socket on all 4 = 1587 watts = 49.6 W/f2.

Your 1000W covers 49 f2 which comes out to be 20.4 W/f2. I'd look at running 2 of those in a 7x7.
