My kids bought me an Arizer dry herb vaporizer a few years ago...the Extreme Q2. It's basically a cheaper version of the Volcano. ($200@ the time)

It's made for flower, but I had the great? idea of vaping wax through it. Now the bowl is fused to the stem. Both pieces are glass and the stem fits INSIDE the bowl. My son got a great deal on wax...$90 an ounce. His loofah was not working so most of that ounce went in my Arizer.

I can take it apart to get the two stuck pieces out but cannot separate them. I tried heating it up/cooling it down, soaking it in 97% alcohol and nothing seems to work. It would cost me $50 to buy two new pieces. Any other idea of how to separate them?

I'm going to try Deisel fuel today. The oiliness may help.

That smell and residue isn’t going to go away if it works

I wouldn't use Deisel fuel.

WD-40, and lots of it, might be worth a try.

I was also thinking about heat or cold. Warming the alcohol bath might lower the viscosity of the solvent to make it penetrate better. The heat might expand the parts slightly, as well. Chilling the parts might make the residue brittle enough to crumble. Got any dry ice?

There are also might be more capable solvents than alcohol.

I can get some or make some, if I can remember back to high school chemistry. It starts making the steam as soon as it gets hot. I'd like to run it for an hour or so to burn it all off but I'm thinking that would just reinforce the bond.

Dawn. And lots of it. I usually clean it with 97% isopropyl then light it to burn off as much of as I can and then wash with Dawn.

Kerosene or diesel is my last resort.

Yes. The boiling point of alcohol is 173F. Keeping it a dozen or so degrees lower should be hot enough for it to remain in the liquid state long enough to make a difference (if it works).

you might wanna try a small submersible pump
my cats water fountain stopped last week so I soaked in vinegar and got it revived. turned it one and cleaned a few rusty bits
maybe try ISP with constant movement might do the trick, or vinegar

They are still fused. I will try the vinegar soak. I have 18 grams of hash waiting for the vape!

Try some orange oil. Seems to break down cannabis resin pretty good. Goof Off should also work. I keep a can nearby to keep my scissors from gumming up when I'm trimming.
