At what week does trichome production ramp up 3

Hey guys at what week does trichomes ramp up production? My girls are 22 days since the 12/12 flip. I see some trichomes on the leaves right on the bud sites but not on the fan leaves yet. Is this dependent on genetics or am I doing something wrong?

Very rarely will there ever be any trichomes on fan leaves. I throw mine in the burn pit.

My friend thats growing has trichomes on her fan leaves already. We flipped at the same time. Maybe it’s strain dependent.

Well yea my sugar leaves don’t have as much trichomes on them as hers does.
You have the same lights and doing all else equal? Including grow mediums, nutrients etc? Different pheno types can and do exist within many strains.
At 22 days I wouldn’t worry about it. By 6 weeks of flowering they should be getting pretty frosty. If not then I would reevaluate everything.

I see optimal product around weed 5-6. This is all strain dependant of course. I grow indica dominant hybrids mainly so my plants seem to have similar flower characteristics.

22 days is only 3 weeks and a day in, You have another 5 or 6 weeks to go. You will begin to see a big difference in another 3 or 4 weeks time.
Get in under the screen and remove all the green stuff. Plant looks great, cut back on the Nitrogen and feed it blooming mix.

No I actually have a more powerful light. She uses HPS and puts her plant out during the day and bring them in at night lol

The bloom nutrients I’m using is flora nova bloom. It has a NPK of 4-8-7. Plus I add liquid Koolbloom as a additive.

The entire plant has trichomes on it, only thing is, it is not super concentrated like it is in the buds. In most cases the fan leaves and stems are only good for pressing out or doing an extract. some strains, not even that.

You can help increase trich production with the right enzymes. We use this:
