Here’s a message from an Athena Rep when I asked about an issue we were having.
We pre soak the coco in the pot with 4.0 Ec before transplanting clones into it. Then from that day forward, water in 3.0 Ec. This starts the clone off on the right foot with a properly stacked medium. From there you develop an irrigation schedule to water in the 3.0 Ec and you want the runoff ec to slowly but gradually climb by dialing in the irrigation. If runoff ec is not climbing , this means you are watering too frequent. So you would back off on the irrigation schedule for longer drying periods in between waterings. If you dry it out too much, the ph in the coco will drop out of range. This is your real danger. Not the high Ec. More frequent waterings is how you combat that. Hope this was helpful. If you still have any questions or just looking for more tips, you can always give us a call 844-333-1818. Tech support team can also answer questions through Instagram DMs.
