Any of my fellow auto growers out there? I'm curious as to what type light cycle do you have on your seedling? I just dumped 6 seedlings into medium and wondering how long I should leave my lights on for the first week or so of growth. I know these guys as they get older can be under 20/4 and even 24 hours in general. But just wondering about the seedlings. Is 18/6 good 12/12, 16/8, any info would be much appreciated.

I have tried all cycles and run my autos 16/8 the entire cycle! Just pic up light intensity as they age

Thanks all. I just dropped them in their medium. I germinated them in paper towels and their tap roots were about a quarter inch long. So hopefully we will start seeing these little ladies pop the surface in the next 24/48 hours. I have a viparspectra 300w currently while I wait for their new pro series p1500 that should be here monday. That new light is adjustable and will be starting them out at around 40% brightness and turn it up as we go along.

If Autos can take 24h light is there any point in not giving them that?
I guess temperature and humidity control is easier if there's no on/off

I dont think they are getting the intensity of a LED or full direct sunlight for 24 hours in nature though.

I found several articles that said for best yields give them a small amount of rest. Like 20/4 or 18/6.

Every plant likes s little rest ! And recovery time - u don’t exercise or even stay up for 24/7 why you think the plant likes it? It doesn’t ! Plus save the cash on electrify

I've been watching this auto blueberry domina emerge since 0630hrs. and will keep under my mars ts1000 veg light that I have necked down to 80W.
I'll do 20/4 for 14 days then switch to the big light at 18/6 for remainder of grow. This schedule is functional for my auto grows. Will also place in
pre-moistened 5 gal air pot 1800hrs. manana..

How close is your light to this little gal?

I am in the Flowering stage of my first Grow. Autos, but they've grown twice as high as they were supposed to,
and at the beginning of the 3rd month, they are forming flowers in earnest. I ran them at 18/6 but on my next
grow it's going to be a different Auto (I may have been lied to, about these being Autos), and I'm going to
run them at 20/4 all the way. I made a lot of mistakes on this first grow, but none were fatal. No appreciable
Burn, no pests & no disease. Beginner's Luck. I'll get what I can out of these, and my 2nd Grow I'll be much
better prepared. These were supposed to be 18 inches tall, but they're over 3 feet (shrug). Here's one today:

Seems like a longer time frame too.

3 out of 6 popping out the soil today. I know they will all pop because their tap roots all popped in paper towels.

I just switched to 6/2 for some photos in veg and im seeing good results. Seems like less end of day droop compared to 18/6. I was thinking this might be good for autos..πŸ€”
