Hello, I am about to start my 1st autoflower grow. I am going to use Fox Farm Ocean Forest. Will I need to add any nutrients with this? Any input would be appreciated.

It’s a very fast plant, heavy veg and almost immediately flower, so fix farm along with calmag, should be good. Feeds veg/ bloom throughout its life

I disagree. Ocean forest has never got me past week 3 of 12/12 and needs supplemental fertilizer to get any potential out of any plant.

Its still just a growing medium not a water only through flower super soil.

Never used ocean forest - I will tell ya the burn easy in the seedling stage, and not heavy feeders at all - I usually start a pure blend pro grow regiment after about week 3-4 and keep it up all the way thru but I’m in PROMIX

Youre like me mosh. A chronic underfeeder. I overwatered and mottled up my auto seedlings but they cleared up and took a feed at week 4 in happy frog. Which has longer lasting nutrients than pro mix (hp or bx). Pro mix bales have a starter charge of nutrients about 1.2-1.4 ec. For nute sensitive seedlings i still need to feed week 2 or at least transplant up to more new soil replenishing the nutrient charge that way.

Deficiencies are hidden but start weeks before we see them. Easily misdiagnosed as too much fertilizer when finally fed as the deficiency will continue some even if the nutrients are available now. When we see spots, stripes or necrotic tips from various deficiencies they can already have advanced for 2 weeks. In potting soil we are feeding the soil so it doesnt run out of nutrients. Not so much directly feeding the plant. Takes some time to see whats really happening.

Sorry for the long post. I struggled with learning to feed properly and still doubt myself. Lol.

Back to the regurlarly scheduled program... :-)

No worries and yes I believe I am a chronic underfeeder, I’ve just burned up to many plants , as you’ve prolly seen I’m trying ! Lmao I’ll get it someday. And I have a little doubt every time I mix up nutes ! Always second guessing myself on what and how much to feed? I’ve definitely noticed a difference In yield and quality the closer I get to feeding proper. I think it will be easier when I get switched to the photoperiod strains - I’ll prolly go to hell for writin this but the autos suck when it comes to consistently
