Autoflower pollinate by photo strain the strange outcome I had

No image uploaded Wanted Closed
Description
Seeds I found form an auto that got crossed with a photo grew the strangest plants. They didn’t switch to flower at reg auto flower time but instead after 9-11 months started showing signs of pre flower. So some home I made a long veg autoflower some how is that even possible or are these plants just a once in a life time possibility or something?

All I can throw in is my experience I had a photo acidentally pollinated by a auto and grew the seeds out this year 4 out of 6 flowered early outdoors the other 2 are right on track so the autoflower gene is way less recesive than thought....as for the ofspring im gonna guess around 75 % would be fast/ autoflowering
...just a guess

No not at all just hate seeing them go to waist and also was very curious on what they would end up doing, they got very very tall like 7ft plus indoor they ran out of room and where packed in tight so we’re not bushy, shit plants at the end of day but still will produce some food stuff just harvested 3 of them for 10 more to go or so but some are only at beginning stages still

Autoflowering is basically a recessive trait, like eye color. Both alleles need to be the “auto” version for the plant to actually express it. When you cross an auto with a photo, most of the offspring will carry just one copy of the auto gene, so they’ll behave like photoperiod plants. The exception is if the photo parent was already a carrier of that recessive gene — then you can get some weird surprises.

If you take those photo-dominant offspring and cross them back to a true auto, then about 25% of the next generation should express autoflowering again (thanks to how the Punnett square works out).

theres talk of 18 hour flower plants. i had several plants start flowering somewhat early this summer. some plants are way more photo sensitive than others. this is the epigenom and it goes beyond mendel. i think cannabis has some stuff at work that is separate from the one trait. my friend who manages a commercial facility even asked "how did you get them to flower so soon". My spot also has lots of shade at the end of the day. latyer.
