Took me this long and wow technology has really changed. LED's were in their infant stages when I started and now not only are the powerful but cheaper than ever. Strain names sure have evolved. I took a long hiatus and during that time I took up glassblowing but with so much going on this year I gotta shift into a different hobby so I got myself a small micro grow. Seeds a germinating. Got Devil's Punch and Citrus GMO. Hopefully they end up great. I'm a bit rusty at this so I'm here for support where needed.

Thanks!

Welcome to the farm. We all have reasons for starting and stopping but you’re here now and I wish you luck on your grows.

Just a few pointers if you aren’t familiar with LED growing vs HID.

LEDs especially quantum boards do not penetrate the canopy like HID does. COB LED lights do a better job but nothing throws light as far as HID. Due to this quantum boards favor scrog style of growing as you can maintain a flat canopy for optimal light spread.

LEDs typically do not put off as much heat as HID. Due to the lack of infrared light your leaf temps might be lower than you’re used to. Under LED plants thrive with leaf temps at 78-85 degrees F. Getting and maintaining this temp can be tricky at certain times of the year. Environmental controls can help you maintain ideal temps and RH.

Get a lumen light meter. It’s easy to give your plants too much light under LEDs and you’ll have all sorts of issues if this is the case. It’s easy to mistake light burn as any number of deficiencies.

Good luck and we’ll be happy to help any way we can.

Was in the same boat as you earlier this year. Finishing my first run and I am proud of results so far. Haven't grown anything since 2008, but i am familiar with the spectrum the qb produce and growing stains I grew in the past. If you go with qb's be sure to get an external dimmer(pot) it will enable you to control the output of your light. When I grew before with hid bulbs getting as much light as possible as close as possible was the mindset. Today the qb's ate so intense that they actually need to be raised to prevent bleaching. I have a Chinese knockoff hlg 550 in a 3x3x6 bloom area (massive overkill) so I have it turn down and it is still brighter in the 3x3 space than my hps and mh 400's were in a 5x3 space while actually providing a better spectrum than the mixed hid's. Pay close attention to your grow until you get used to these new lights. This is my first run since 2008 and I am looking at 1.5 to 2 grams per watt draw at wall using scrogg style with strains that havent been great producers in the past. Read up on what you want to do and enjoy the ride.

Some early stages. The big girl is an unknown bagseed I nickname Missy Elliott that I got from a friend and named it after him. The three other strugglers are Devil's Punch (Sinmint cookies X Hollywood Punch) ,Citrus GMO, and under the Cup is Tropicana Motorbreath.

Damn, Tropicana Motorbreath has got to be a wonderful strain. I love both parents and they are different in many ways.

Some time went by and here I am down to three. The Missy Elliott turned out to be a Mister Elliott after the second day of 12/12 in a dark closet.

I'm using Remo Nutrients this time around. Was heavy into Advanced nutrients but you gotta love Remo. I trust that guy with the dank chemistry. I got that in a 20 tub that's got an airstone and a 3 volt usb water pump that's on a timer. I only use distilled water.ph'd to just under 6. Ppm of TDS is at 493.

Added some armor against pests . Not that I have any, it's more of a preventative measure. All around the stock of the plant I sprinkled a layer of pure silica sand. Around that circle I sprinkled Diatomaceous earth(91.1% Silicon Dioxide). Found inexpensively at most pet stores.

Well, what sucks bigtime is that, Devil's Punch turned out to be male. So now, I'm growing two plants total. This is the price of non feminized seeds.
