And it a lot louder than I thought it would be. I'm sure tho a rubber mat will help with some of the vibration noise. The odor is whats pissing me off. Not sure what if any contaminates will be blowing thru my rez. View attachment 645509

Nice! Need to get myself a ballast timer. Using a pinwheel timer from home depot right now

Healthy, frosty & stanky!

The bagseed trio has been showing yellowing of the fan leaves. While the SDXQ was not. This leads me to believe it's genetic, probably senescence. @jumpincactus this is what I was discussing on the phone.

The SDXQ is very nute sensitive. I've had to balance the nutes between the bagseed trio which has sucked up everything in high strength.

Another consideration is that the bagseed trio may be more of an 8 week strain while the SDXQ is a 9-10 weeker.

I've tried adjusting certain nutes but being the last 3 -4 weeks I don't want to fluctuate their feedings too much.

Any opinions guys?

Nutrients are all organic bubbled a couple days with added microbes for digestion and ph stabilization. Each feed should be fairly identical and consistant just based on the process I use.

I'm just gonna stick to the Earth Juice's charts like usual. It has steered me well so far.
Ok, But remember you asked for opinions. :) If you mainline on your next run I would back off on the amount of defoliation your doing, now work with me here. I'm thinking that with a heavy defoliate your arent leaving enough stored minerals/nutes on the plant and in its final death throes of producing flowers and what she really wants is seeds, that you may be getting early yellowing due to lack of/ or limited amounts photsynthesis. Keep in mind the gentics call in to play the amount of veg and leaf surface to provide what the plant needs based on its DNA. So with a heavy defole you are in a sense limiting the plants potential. The whole manifolding form of training is very nice. Try less on the next run and see if you can see a difference. I'm inclined to think you would see fatter cola's. More photosnyth = more sugars and carbs & aminos to the flowers.

If not no harm no foul. But you did ask. :p

I started out bubbling my nutes very early on but without really knowing why so I stopped. I'd like to look into whether or not Nectar for the Gods reccomends it or not.

Yea I decided to upgrade. Have heard some real horror stories using home/loews depot brand timers. They get hot and it just feels better taking a added step. ....... The Apollos are nice looking units. Built by the Homies in WA State. Yea I had to represent!!! The only downside I have noticed is the ballast cord is only about 7" long so the timer has to be mounted right next to the ballast or use an extension cord and I dont want to do that either. But I will sleep better knowing my times isnt going to set the dang house on fire. :)

I run a pump in my nutrient tank to keep everything mixed. I use a hose and waterfall the nutes to oxygenate the nutes. try to keep as much oxygen in the mix as possible. Don't know if it helps or not I don't think it can hurt.

I use earth juice nutes.
And bubbling helps add dissolved oxygen to the mixture.

It helps stabilize ph around 7.

And it helps provide anaerobic bacteria a healthy environment to digest the fertilizers added to the solution.

Once added to the soil the digested organic ferts are easily/quickly absorbed by the plants. And the remaining microbes inhabit the soil helping break down the organic matter in the soil. Producing a nice steady supply of plant & mychorizae accessible food between feedings.

The microbial life system built into the soil also helps keep the ph of the substrate in check.

I agree, can't put a price on peace of mind

Thanks for breaking it down for me. I've read that but then I've also read that the line I'm using reccomends feeding straight away. I'm gonna e-mail them and see what's best.

I'm in coco so I don't have a res. I was bubbling my water and using it to mix my nutes but I'm not sure how much dissolve oxygen stays in the water that way.

I'm also in coco. I run a DTW so 55 gal last about a week in veg and flower. Mixing 1-2 times a week instead of daily. I'm lazy. Never wanted to do the daily hand water thing ha ha.

I planted all 4 seeds close to the soil surface maybe "1/4 deep.

It seems all my other grows I planted too deep and had to dig for them.

This time I planted them shallow which increases the chance of the top layer of soil drying out. But I'm home all day so I have time to watch over them.

Today I gently uncovered each seedling to verify all was well. All 4 had sent taproot into the ground.

They should break ground within the next day or couple days.

Yes it helps a lot, anything that causes the surface of the water to "break" is going to allow for good O2 exchange. I learned that from my reefkeeping days. Any cascading, splashing of water or water fall is going to drive your DO levels up. The trick to keeping that DO up is to keep the rez temps cooler as cooler water holds more DO than warmer water.

I do the same thing, I lay a 700 gpm fish pump in the bottom of my 55 gall rez to keep minerals from settling and now with the ecoplus 3 my DO levels will be real nice, as I will also aerate the control module as well. That fish pump really churns the water surface for good gas exchange. I have a chiller that will keep nutes at 62 deg F I also used R14 insulation to wrap the rez to keep the temps more stable. I should see improved growth and yields with this setup. We shall see. Next run will be some g13 x blueberry headband x wifi #3 x snowlotus and some of ExGens Green Ribbon BX

I believe you can bubble NFTG they recomend not storing mixed nutes so you have to use them same day. But I wouldnt think bubbling it overnight would hurt. But def check with them 1st

Today's update is on seedling street.

All 4 were above surface yesterday.

They all were stuck in their shells lol.
If I had buried them deeper I'd be good. I removed all seed shells and all their Cotyledons opened up by the end of the day.

One in particular had emerged from its shell backwards (Cotyledons first).
I thought it was good until I looked.

I had to remove the embryo and orient it carefully in the soil. Because the taproot was drying inside the seed.

Then I wet it good and placed it inside a 1 gal ziplock bag. I left one end open for the plant to breathe and so it didn't get the greenhouse effect under the light and cook.

Overnight the backwards seedling has grown it's taproot ".5 and lots of little white hairs grew in on the root. Looked like mini cotton candy.
Made sure it was well covered in soil this morning. Now that It had a root system to bury.

A good sign it was recovering from its mishap. I will leave it in the bag until I'm sure it's got enough of a root system not to dry out. Maybe a couple days more.

Is the quality good. Do they precharge theirs with Cal Mg how long do you rinse for to make sure all the residual salts are removed before use. Or do you even bother due to high quality of processing. Thx
I also use coco mulch [bark] 50/50. This comes compresed I break off what I think I will need and soak in Ca ph water.
Then I mix the 2 fill the pots and plant. Drench real well with veg food set up drip and forget it. I watch my runoff and adjust the timer accordingly. I don't rinse the H&G. I will have to look to see if it is precharged. I'm on my first full flower cycle with this method. And second veg.
I like the mulch because of the big chunks. I don't want to use perlite or grow stones. I want to be able to dump this in my veggie garden and not have all that stuff in it.

Did that answer your question?
