ballast ?

Hey guys I got an older sunlight ss-1 1000 watt hps running on 120v. I want to run it on 240. i took the cover off the ballast and I see a wire marked 240v with a cap on it. The part that that I don't understand is this ballast has an on off switch. Anybody know how to wire directly and bypass the switch.Thanks.

Sounds like your ballast might be able to wire to 240v. I would double check with the manufacturer. To eliminate the switch under normal conditions if theres two wires goin into it you just have to put them together with wire nut. BUt if your switch is for mh to hps and not an off and on switch then that isnt what you would do.

I figured it out I just wired it the way I thought and plugged it in. I just didn't trust myself. Thanks
