bamboo doesn't need much food. i'm sure any soluble liquid fert would work well, but they thrive pretty good in just distilled or RO water. at home i got a DIY bubble cloner and have been testing it out on bamboo cuttings. they rooted just fine too.
Thanks for the reply koopa. I have some in a vase with rocks and water. It hasn't had any growth in months and is starting to yellow. I will try a mild fertilizer mix. Does anybody else have a thought about this?
if you have liquid karma or some other type of veg formula, it should be okay to give it a little bit. the bamboo collection at my mom's house never get nutes at all and they are as green as can be. i have a similar yellowing on some i have too. another clone off of the bamboo i took cuttings off is in a loam/peat mix with additives and is doing bomb.
You can email these guys for a formula. I have been buying bamboo for ornamental and construction purposes. I figure in a few years when we are ready to develop our beach property the stands should be big enough. Suerte JK
