Most experts disagree with that article you read. Most botanists classify narrow leaf, equatorial/tropical drug varieties as Sativa. Thtat the only guy I ever heard of that calls Colombian a thin leaf equatorial indica. LOL The author wants to reinvent the wheel and show everyone how smart he is all. Call it what you want, but the original AG wasn't a wide leaf solid chunk afghani type bud.
Most at this time agree there is only 1 species that varies and that's why they can reproduce across the board, like other living entities. It's not an article it's from Cannabis Evolution and Botany by Clarke and Merlin, If you come across the book or online pdf , you may agree as well as it's pretty thorough. Indica was always called the drug species by pharma companies when they legally produced meds from it. Carl Linnaeus named it Sativa which simply means cultivated for fibre, seed etc and people selected for narrow leaves as cultivars because they gave the best fiber etc. Lamarck named it Indica, meaning coming from India and used primarily for it's ability to make THC and psychoactive properties but it can also be used as hemp to a degree, some may have escaped and hybridized. India has many narrow blade plants which are still indica. This is in most cases, some plants mutate and can go the other way, sometimes just by changing the environment..I agree with AG never having wide leaves .

The plants he named indica was hindu kush type. Before that all weed was called Cannabis Sativa. There was already lots of landrace sativas (even in india) that were drug variety. So to say anything with thc is indica is just ridiculous imo.

You're right about all Sativa, the rest are now said to be subspecies. I've never seen proof he was talking about Hindu kush but I'll take your word for it. Today almost everything is a hybrid anyway for efficiency and profit through selection. Lamarck found psychoactive and non psychoactive plants in India and he wanted differentiate them and hemp, indica was the name chosen for the psychoactive ones.
