Howdy THC Farmer Members,

Behind Enemy Lines here coming at you from, well, behind the enemies lines...! I used to grow years ago using LED/HID and DWC, I am really excited to get back into the world of growing cannabis again. This grow will take place indoors in a sealed closet using Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil medium and 3 gallon smart pots. I am not sponsored and purchased all of my own equipment.

Any and all comments, advice, and critics are welcomed here!

Strain:
The BANK: Windu OG Feminized
X-Wing OG x X Fall '97
Hybrid Ratio: 80% Indica 20% Sativa
Flower Time: 63 to 67 days

The top-left potted plant and the one in the middle are bagseeds from some really good flower, unsure of the actual strain. These are "for fun" they may or may not make it all the way.

Lights & Electronics:
Spider Farmer SE3000
AC Infinity CLOUDLINE T4 (for intaking air) ((I will add a S6 prior to flower for exhaust))

Tent:
AC Infinity 36" x 36" x 72" (L x W x H)

Nutrients:
- Advanced Nutrients Iguana Juice Grow
- Advanced Nutrients Iguana Juice Bloom
- Advanced Nutrients Nirvana
- Botanicare Cal-Mag Plus
- Botanicare Silica Blast
- MYCO+

Hi, welcome to the farm, there's a good core group here that are willing to help. I have the same set up with tent & light and I'm currently 7 weeks into flower with 3 in 3 gallon fabric pots in Promix...

.My first grow in a tent, 3rd with led lights 20+ years indoor, 3rd year since I found this place and learned how to grow. I still fk up but I've found reliable help here. Good luck

These plants started on 4/16/22. My biggest issue is heat where I am at, I am working on cooling my space down more. Temps typically ranging between 75-84 F. My intake fan is pulling air through the wall from another room that has central a/c kept at 70 F. There is currently no exhaust; I need to figure out where I want to exhaust the air (likely through wall). I am supplementing the Silica and Kelp/Seaweed (AN Nirvana) to help with heat stress. Any advice here would be much appreciated.

I had somewhat of a rough first week overwatering and over handling the seedlings. I quickly backed off the water and handling and they have been doing wonderful since. I was surprised that I was able to start adding nutrients at 50% strength at week 2 without burning the plants at all.

I topped the 5th set of leaves when they were 1/4-1/2” on all three Windu OG plants a few days ago. They are already growing two new tops to replace the old one. The bag seeds will be topped tomorrow.

How often are y’all feeding nutrients in a soil medium? Should I feed 100% once a week and water the rest, or 50%/50% spread over the week, or feed a little each time I water?

Im watering every 2-3 days right now until runoff occurs.

Thoughts?

I water-feed-water-feed ect. with General Hydroponics 3 part system....following their water /feed schedule water slowly until saturated with good run off..... let dry........... in your pots at those temps around 3 days then feed slowly until saturated with good run off.....good things will happen.

All five canna plants were topped at 5th set of leaves now. Watered them all today until runoff with 5ml CalMag, 5ml Silica Blast and 8ml AN Nirvana.

I used green coated metal garden wire to tie back the fan leaves on the two most mature plants (in front) and expose the new bud sites. Once the new beaches are long enough, I will LST them four ways to make a cross. I’ll let that grow back in and top more bud sites as needed.

Lights are at 75% hanging 18 inches over the canopy.

I have the big fan leaves tied down to expose the bud sites/new growth underneath. When the new branches get long enough I’ll tie them down. I cut a little bit off of the big fan leaves on the bottom left plant (best Windu OG too).

Transplanted the one in the middle to a 3 gal. pot.

BTW, they are getting 24 hrs. of light.

I cut a hole into my roof so that I could exhaust into the attic …felt a little bad about it :D… It has drastically helped with my heat issue. I need to get another inline fan for taking in cool air now.

I also trained up the most mature plant some more.

DAY - 24
Had everything to make the SCROG laying around so I went ahead and made one. Cotton twine, 3 inch holes, 32”x32”x21” (LxWxH).

Is 8” over the soil/base of plant, a good height? Should I go lower (6 inches?)?

Topped more, more LST, removed fan leaves, watered + silica, cal-mag, nirvana.

I think I am going to cull the two smaller plants in front and run with the two in the back. I will transfer them from 3 gallon -> 5 gallon pots. They are 1-2 inches below the screen. I’ve been giving them 24 hours of light, but I’m going to start giving them 18/6 so they will start to stretch and weave them through the screen.

Made a 5 gal. bucket aerocloner to begin cloning.

Upgraded my exhaust to a AC Infinity 6 inch inline fan. I placed the fan on top of the tent and ducted it to my attic. The addition of the 6 inch fan drastically reduced my heat issues. The 4 inch fan is in taking cooler air into the tent.

Just wanted to gove a word of caution on the venting. Pumping that humid warm air into the attic can create a huge potential risk for a mold infestation in your home and cause lits of damage. In the winter it can cause lots of ice formation that will melt and cause water damage to your home.

Just food for thought you may want to extend the ducting out of a vent or soffit to prevent issues

Thanks for the heads up.

My plan is to extend the ducting and go through the wall on the opposite side of the house. That’s a project for the very near future.

Good stuff brother, just would hate to see that happen to someone as it can get extremely expensive to repair so thought id speak up incase it may have not been considered

As a long time roofer I will say you really don't want excess moisture in your attic.
Ply wood prices are out of control so just double whatever you think roof re placement will cost and be prepared to ask a friend for the rest !
If you vent out soffit cut for a real vent , don't just leave end of hose near it as it will all be drawn up. Get it out, like the other side of the wall, roof or soffit. 👍

I don’t use my exhaust for my bathroom, it has a 3 inch duct vented out through the wall. I was thinking of using a reducer 6” -> 3” and using the existing 3 inch duct line so I don’t have to cut a hole in my exterior wall. Do you think this is doable…?
