Best repair for split stalk?

I got a little crazy training and pulled the two top branches down too much and a split opened up down the center . I tried garden ties and duct tape but if theres something I should do differently I would like to try if anyone has opinions on a better option..seems to look of after a couple of days and I havent stopped tucking

That's what I would have done. Although unless the plant branch is falling, I usually just leave it alone. Even broken open, and it heals. Should be fine!
