the move went well. i got all my girls over to this new place without a hitch. they are sitting on the side yard waiting for their new container. the 250w box of green is now in week two of flower.im glad i used a 250w instead of the 400w. the 400w would have been too big for this box. ill add pics later. thanks digdug!!

So I'm a little confused. You've mentioned 250W bulbs in the same post as a 40' shipping container. What did I miss?

i dont have the shipping container yet. i get my security deposit back from the last house i was at and im using that cash to buy my 40' shipping container. thats where im going to hang my 1k's bare bulb vertical. as of right now i have my vertical bare bulb 250w hps 3'x3' box in week 2 of flower. The 3 plants i had under a horizontal 1k with an air cooled hood are 6 weeks into flower and are finishing off around the same 1k light, but now i hung it bare bulb with no hood.i built a 6x6 room temporary just to finish the 3 plants. hope that clears things up. im still thinking about the light mover and will be working on that soon. thanks digdug!!

Okay. No 40' onsite yet. Why not a greenhouse? Do light deprivation- sunlight in summer, keep it closed and flip flop indoor all winter? You're buying the heating plant- all your lights- anyway, I see this as bonus... If this is rental property, maybe a big portable box is a better idea.

Funny, I recently saw a show on cable about a dude who built his own home out of an old storage building, added a greenhouse on either side and installed, yes, insulated shipping containers scattered throughout for bedrooms, kitchen, baths and den. I totally want a house like that, only I'll find something better than fuckin' astroturf to do with all that floorspace!

tty, yes ive seen what some are doing to these very versitile containers.crazy cool!! i wish i could have a green house but it is a rental property and we like to entertain in our backyard. i dont have room indoors here at this house, plus the shipping container, once insulatated will be the perfect width for vertical thouies. im looking into the high cube container which is 9'6" tall so the light mover is going to really make a difference. im planning to run three 1k bare bulbs in a 20'x7'x9' area.all three lights will be moving up and down with the light mover im designing , a 2 ton mini split a/cunit cooling another small section next to the flower room in the middle of the container. i have an industrial air scrubber that i will modify to exchange the air between the cold room and the flower room.these two rooms will be sealed from the outside world. i use co2 tanks but i need to get a controller as im just guessing on the co2 dosage now. ive been super blessed with everything that has lead me to this point. i will start a new thread as soon as i start leveling out the area for the container. thanks digdug!!

im kicking rocks. ive been moving rocks around my backyard all week trying to get ready for this container. i have a sideyard that is all gravel and not level. i also need to cut a small portion of the eves to this house cause its just a little too tight. thank god im a diy guy and have no fear cutting into any house and putting it back better then new :) im so excited to get this container. ill be in full on construction mode this weekend. my little 250w box is doing great and is in the 4th week of flower ill try to post a good picture of the box. im off to build an oak fish tank stand for my 300 gal. tank. ill post a picture of my tank when i set it up, just for the fish heads in the forum. thanks digdug!!

Digging the whole plan! You're not planning to integrate your fish tank into your grow op, are you? I'm in the planning stages of just such a setup, myself! I know there are lots of fishy people on here who would love to see what you come up with!

After seeing what biodigested fish poop can do for plants as an amendment, I'm on board the aquaponics train. Just a matter of a getting my own car.... err, tank.

I plan to do a few other things with my fish tank, too- like use it to cool my operation as well as aerate, water and feed it.

Ushio are extremely well-made, do the job, and last forever. You can't go wrong with these lights.

update::: the 250w box is doing very well. the buds are starting to really put some weight on. the spider mites are starting to show signs again but not bad.i got my 40' container. tty, you will have to let us all know how your fishy plant plans come about!! alan, i have a ushio hps/mh conversion bulb that i use in veg and luv it. it lasts twice as long as a mh. im going to run ushios in my container. it barely fit but i got my container into my backyard. ive started to frame the inside of the container with 2x6 studs and r-19 fiberglass insulation my finished mesurements are 7' wide by 8'4" tall by 15' long for the flower room and the same measurments for the veg/lung room. the last 10' or so will be used for garage overflow/ storage/extra work area...etc... its crazy hot in this box right now i cant wait to install the a/c unit and get this thing insulated. well back to work i go. ill start a new thread tonight with pictures. thanks digdug!!
