After the material has been trimmed up i have a plastic tote with sugar leaf, some stems and broken down fan leaves. What is the best way to prescreen this material before you give it to a friend to make something out of it.
I have been using a fan screen and then a window screen and separated the two but this does not give me the cleanest and most consistent product.

Tell your trimmers to do a better job keeping it clean. I will tell them to separate sugar leaf from and other trash (fan leaves, stems, twist ties, etc.).

If its all mixed together, I suggest 1/4" hardware cloth wrapped over a Rubbermaid tote. Or if you're on the cheap oscillating fans work great, just remove the wire housing, sift and viola!
