Day 22
Plants are drinking from reservoir of bucket. So put sand on a couple of days ago and got like four adults on both sticky traps. I can see the glass in the sand, the lil bugger dont like that.

Plants are doing great so far. Hope it can continue. Water level is definitely going down. Gonna give them some recharge next watering.

Gotta figure out how im gonna top dress these plants. Guess ill just move sand to one side as best as i can and place it under it. Or i might just put it on top of sand and scratch it in like a regular top dress. Any suggestions?

Day 28 or so from sprout
Plants are still green and growing. Did tie them down so middle of plant would open up to the light. Its been 14 days since theyve been in buckets, so i will top dress next week about day 35. Think ill give them two more weeks or so in veg. So ill do a 60/40 mix of flower 4-8-4/veg 4-4-4. Only see a couple of gnats so sand is working, thinking about taking it out b4 i flip, and use a cover over top of buckets. Also visited my new hydro shop they have everything, will be getting some more soil for next run, still hadnt decided, but will probably go with promix bx. I also purchased some roots organic bloom terp tea, im gonna go back and get the terp tea bloom booster to.

Dam these are some shorties. They just wont stretch upwards. I had to lst them just so budsites under apical would grow. But i think im being impatient, bc i dont have to water as much. So i wont even look at them again til thurs. Probably wont clone these phenos, dont like the way they are vegging. Everything is on point. We’ll see how it ends up, these plants always surprise me when i least expect it. Seems like all the seeds ive grown in this tent are turning out small. Gonna change soil next grow, to promix bx, maybe thatll help my plants stretch a lil bit in early veg.

Day 31
Nothing different, these hoes staying close to the sand. Tied them down some more, probably gonna veg for two more weeks and flip. Didnt want to go 60 days, but ill have to reevaluate that, depending on stature. Some of the leaves are looking a bit pale, when resevoir is empty ill, let them dry out for a couple of days, then ill give them a good watering of fish emulsion, let them dry out again and fill resevoir back with plain water. At the same time, after i fill resevoir back up, ill do a top dress of some flower nutes. Ill then wait a week or so and flip lights. So it sounds closer to 60 day veg.

Did some more tying down. If they dont wanna grow tall ill stretch them out. Also removed alot of the stuff in middle of both plants, the lil leaves and budsites. Still debating whether to take clones or not.

The glookies res is empty, will let tb res dry out and give them a couple of days to dry out, will foliar feed during dry out period. I will then fill back up with plain water phd to 6.5 or so.

Day 36 veg
Plants are chugging along. Gave them some recharge and filled res’s back up with some kelp water. Plan on flipping on day 45. And they are starting to stink. The stinkiest veg plants ive ever grown. They are definitely growing. In 5 days theyve almost covered buckets. They definitely would’ve been taller if i wouldn’t have lstd. I hope they stretch pretty good in flowering stage.Wanna clone them and have them vegging while these flower, that way i should have time to have a mother plant. Gotta get another light for other tent. Moved it from garage to mancave. Its crowded but comfy. Snapped a few pics.

Filled up buckets today with plain water. Will give kelp water next feeding. They are starting to drink the gallon or so of water quickly. Did some more lsting. They are spreading nicely. Almost covering Im gonna take 1 clone from each plant, just in case they beast out. The plan is to keep giving them kelp water and compost tea, through to about week 2-3 of flowering. Then ill start giving them the roots organic bloom terp tea, if they need it. Will also do a defoliation at week1 and 4 of flowering, will also lollipop at week 4. So far so good.

Ordered me some more beans from seedsman. Greenhouse seeds bogof sale. Got 19 seeds for 70 bucks:10 kongs krush, 9 freebies, white widow, blueberry and unknown fem all 3 pack fem. Also ordered a couple of small fans and a trellis net. I will not buy anything else this year for growing. Ive spent right at what i wanted to, 1100 bucks. Hopefully this stuff can last at least 2 years. Its gonna be harc but ive got to wait until at least next bonus time at work to get anything else over 20 bucks. Might just get one more thing, i want the apera ph pen kit, its 40 bucks. But i dont really ph, bc my water comes out at 7 so i just let it sit out for 24hrs and water. Ill snap a few pics of the plants in the morning. Also got another bag of happy frog, i like that soil for some reason. Plus its pretty cheap 20 bucks.

They are looking great, gonna flip tomorrow morning. Gotta hang some blackout curtains in the closet, between tent and door. Should keep light leaks out. Also filled res's up with plain water. And dump some recharge in, and sprayed a lil kelp water on leaves. Thats the plan. Heres some pics:

i agree. these plants wouldnt stretch. but i transplanted to early, slowed them up and then mightve started training to early, 5th or 6th node. im hoping they stretch when i switch. not gonna use a trelis.

Just catching up so I apologize if I missed some details. First off, plants look great and healthy even though you’re looking for more of a stretch. These girls are definitely some bushy girls and you did them justice by tying them down to spread them out.

How far away is your light and it’s current intensity?

I’m not familiar with your medium, but I’m wondering if there may have been a stall somewhere in the root zone preventing anything?

Some things to think about

Genetics: Some cannabis strains naturally grow shorter and exhibit less stretch during the flowering stage. If you’re growing a strain known for its compact growth, it may not stretch much regardless of other factors.

I am leaning toward light and messing with them when they are too small. Just two cents. Looks like you got some stretch after the flip on the previous grow. But you sure as hell didn’t have to worry about them getting into the lights! Lol.

Schwifty grower, i think it was me transplanting to early, and not top watering long enough before i started filling resevoirs in buckets. Took the roots a bit to get to bottom, and in a panic, i started doing what oldchucky said, started tying them down too early. They seem to be stretching a lil now, and drinking good too. Might hit them with a half dose of terp tea next fill up. Ill make a gallon and pour it over the top, then fill buckets with plain water. Thanks for stopping by guys. Im taking in all the advice i can get.

Day 42 veg 6 weeks/Day 1 flower
Flipped lights on these babes, hopefully!!! Took a clone from each plant. Refilled buckets. Still seeing a few gnats, thinking about doing a foliar spray with capt jacks neem oil one more time before buds come in. Plants are my best so far, good veg with buckets, now lets see how flowering goes.
Got the veg tent setup too. Got two clones in there in the dark, for now. So the light i got for 44 bucks will be going in flower tent, bc i cant dim it. And i ordered a viparspectra v1000 2023 version, ended up getting it for 60 bucks. So i got 200 more watts for 100 bucks, ill take it. Also prepared a 5 gallon fabric pot, for the critical+2.0 auto that i have germinating in a paper towel. Gonna try that under viparspectra, while clones are rooting and growing. I amended the soil with 8 tbs of DTE 4-4-4 and 4-8-4, 4 tbs each. Also added 4tbs of azomite and about a cup and a half of rice hulls. Mixed with happy frog soil. Then i dug about a half gallon hole in the middle and just added plain hf soil. Gonna pop seed right in the middle, and hope for the best.
When i took clones i cut on angle then split stem, and scaped sides, also added some mycos to the hole, and watered in with kelp water. I heard spliting the stem makes the major taproot thicker and stronger, hence a larger root mass, the drawback is it takes longer to root. Good trade off imo. Ok heres some pics. Might go ahead and order apera ph20 ph meter. Dam i cant stop spending!!! This shit is addictive, i guess its like a crackhead feels!!! Im always thinking about my grow, i spend all my extra money on it, and get cranky when shit dont go, or grow right!!! Fuck it YOLO!!!
