Hey fellas

Im kinda tired of paying so much for worm castings, so I decided to use Black Kow to add to my soil mix. I figured it wouldnt hurt as i really only want it for the microbes, i use organic dry amendments as a main source of nutrition. Anyhoo, figured i would document it to record results, a much cheaper alternative to castings.

mixed in with my coast of maine potting soil blend, with DtE 4-3-6 acid mix, kelp meal, and langbeinite. Manure is ~25% of mix

Week 1: transplant

Hows it going with the Black Kow? I too decided to try it this round for the first time. My only reservation is I hope its not contaminated with herbicides. I did my research AFTER I amended my soil with it. LOL Some people have had issues with it. I will be following along. I basically used 2 cups per gallon of soil amended with 3 cups worm castings and Build a soil craft blend organic dry amendments. I see you are using perlite as a top barrier. If u have issues with gnats, neem oil and dr bronners soaps mixed and sprayed on the top during veg worked wonders for me. Ive been battling them bastards for a couple years then they gone! Cheers!
