Has anyone used black magic potting soil? Saw it at home depot and it looked decent so I hastily grabbed a bag.
Pics or it never happened...Has anyone used black magic potting soil? Saw it at home depot and it looked decent so I hastily grabbed a bag.
You can get a slurry test from the garden section at walmart or most any department store with a garden section, it has a little pill that you dump the powder out of into some water with a pinch of dirt and then compare the color to a chart like a pool chlorine test. They only cost a few bucks and can be more accurate than pens and meters for soil.No I haven't. I'm going to get a pH meter tomorrow, this is my first grow. I was going to wait til sept to start but Im getting impatient so I might pop a few freebie beans I got.
What's it got in it?any additives, myco.peat or?price...Thanks for the tip man, I'll be grabbing that too. I have heard that meters weren't that accurate for soil.
It has quite a few ammendments, which is what made me grab it. There's a pic of the back label a few comments up that lists them all. It was $15.98 for 1.5 cu ftWha

Get a bag of plain seedlings mix, that will be quite warm to say the least bro.cool.That's why I grabbed it, I wanted to grow in super soil. I planned on starting my first grow in sept but got jumpy and decided to do a small run of some freebie seeds starting next week. Figured it would save me the cook time on the soil
Hehe, you kill me every time you say that....Pics or it never happened...
Yea it made me laugh enough to get my lazy ass off the couch and take a pic lol. I figure it would be hot so I grabbed a bag of plain organic soil and a bag of humus to mix an upper layer. Thanks for steering me in the right direction.Hehe, you kill me every time you say that....
Looks like they like it, happy looking ladies
That's just a mulch pile containing everything but the seedling mix,Looks like they like it, happy looking ladies
I'll be honest I never used it for growing cannabis. I used it in the flower bed and the plants are loving it. I did a slurry test and it came out at 5.5ish pH and around 140 ppm so its actually not a very hot soil. Makes me think it doesn't have very much of the amendments they have listed in there. I do still have a bag sitting around so I may try it in the near futureSo I gotta know. How'd black magic fair. I'm currently looking into using it myself so I'm very interested.
