Love them. They are excellent mothers. It is odd when you come up on them roasting for the first time. I think because you are so used to seeing them on the ground. Look funny in trees. Same with chickens.

Bought the ex, his dad, and best friend a call made out if Jack Daniel's whiskey barrels. His youngest boy didn't need a call, he was that good.
 
Yeah, I don’t have that talent! I might get lucky with a slate call! But I try and make the same noise anytime I am near them just to kind of put them at ease hopefully! Don’t know if it works or not! I have to walk underneath Their roost in the evening, and they still raise a bit of hell! L O L! It’s fun watching them fly one by one up in to the roost when they get big! I need to get a box call! Or you need a mouth or reed call if you’re hunting them alone!
 
Me too! And one of any sex season is coming up! But I wouldn’t have the heart to shoot one of these! But my brother would! L O L! But thanks for reminding me! This 14 1/2 pounder has been in the freezer since Christmas! Time to pull it out And Thaw it out! $.50 a pound! Some good eating for 750! I’m going to restock at Thanksgiving! Take a week for it to thaw.

When I get the craving, I make the meal, all the fixins. I'm not waiting for a specific date for that meal. In fact, because I do this, sometimes we switch up what we eat. Christmas is homemade pasta, ravioli, lasagna, etc. It isn't the traditional meal that we probably just ate at Thanksgiving.
 
Probably just gravy, candied, yams, and mashed taters with butter! As you know, I’m not a big one for veggies! Maybe some dinner rolls of some kind! I know you’re a lot more adventurous! L O L! I’m not even a big one for stuffing! But it to make it to my plate it better have pineapple in it! Ha ha
 
I know. That's why I said dont name another meat.

Pineapple stuffing? Never heard of that. That seems pretty adventurous. Not sure I could do that. I love stuffing, but I don't want weird shit in it. One of my aunt's adds oysters. Absolutely not. My grandma added gizzards, heart, neck, etc. Absolutely not. Just give me plain ol stuffing. If it can't be made plain, give me stovetop. Hahaha.

Yummmm, some yeast rolls sound good right now. And some deviled eggs too. Now, I do make Hawaiian rolls the kids always ask for. Those have pineapple juice in them.
 
My favorite part about the meal is usually the relish tray. Pickled okra and deviled eggs. I also make homemade cranberry sauce (just 3 ingredients) that I love. Has to sit for a few days for the flavors to meld together. I also make sweet potato casserole, that I eat as a dessert.

Favorite dessert is definitely pecan pie for that meal.

Stop it! Stop it! This is torture! No, I’m gonna have to go in and eat a few Eggo’s with a real maple syrup and butter! L O L! Pineapple makes everything better! From pizza to pasta too, probably even on a steak! L O L!
 
Ok, now I officially have to raid the fridge! I love me some collard greens, cornbread dressing (I dont stuff birds, can you say food born illnesses...🤢😂) definitely gravy and a bunch of asian food like always got us!

The most authentic Mexican, also! Little hole in the walls where the servers don’t even speak, English! L O L!

I'm half Japanese, my wife is Hmong, grew up eating real Lao, Thai, Cantonese, Yunnanese, Pakistani, Punjabi foods..... so I've been spoiled!

I feel you on how to pick authentic restaurants🤣 I want the place that looks like it hasn't been updated since the Reagan era and you might need to be up to date on your vaccinations before entering!🤣
 
Just went into a Mexican spot someone told me not to enter. Said there was Mexican mafia in there. Hey, I'm just here for some good food. Anything else going on ain't my bidness. Food was 10/10. No one spoke English.
