Well they are looking good considering the conditions you got. It's 11:30am and cooled down enough here today to open the windows and my front door for some fresh air. It will be warm later in the 90's and that will continue for the next 6wks well into August. Will get the 100 temps again i'm sure. Let's just hope we don't get them smoke filled skies this summer. We've had a lightning storms roll through got some little fires that were put out quickly.

Yeah, the smoke is always a big worry! Two days below 100 now back up into the hundreds. Par. For the course around here! Rough veg! Sweet flower!🌸 Hope these fuckers don’t start flowering early on me! Would be clam happy to see it start around last week of August 1 week of September!

It is dry! Desert dry! L O L! Probably won’t rain here till October! I still give them the wet, dry cycles, but try and keep the soil on the moist and to keep it cool through evaporation! If they ever get big, and you can pretty much throw as much water at them as you want! That’s my slowly receding pond! I grow in a creek bed that feeds the pond during the winter! I’ve got a pipe run from my well that I can pump water into the pond if I want to! I usually try and keep some water in it to help out our fellow, four-legged mortals! And birds! And whatever! Water gets scarce around here! I can let the pump run all night and pump about 6000 gallons but it’s getting kind of expensive with the electricity rates what they are! You can kind of see the barn roof in the distance! That’s where the house Is!

That's quite a hike! What do you think would happen if you split the bottom of the pots open and let the roots go into the dirt? Would the surrounding dryness suck up all the water in the pot?

I thought about trying that. But I actually need to move the pots around as the angle of the sun changes later in the year! Try and get them all the sunlight I can. it is a long hike i used to carry water. Finally got smart and ran a half inch drip line out to them. Lol! We don’t have the lush summers that you have! But the winter is pretty nice.

Move pots that big? (Mom voice) Be careful! At our age it doesn't take much to knock us out of action and those plants NEED you!

They drag pretty easy! And the dogs, there is another one, I got from an old guy who lived up in the mountains, and had to move out because he couldn’t deal with all of the snow anymore! He was going to take them to the pound! So they know all about snow! Feet and feet of it! The wife And other dogs all croaked about the same time. So I snagged them up from him! They are good dogs! Can’t imagine not having dogs! They have to get used to the damnable heat! L O L!

No, I’m not that lucky! If I don’t pump water into it, it will dry up completely! I used to keep water in it to go swimming! Now I’m getting too old and cheap! L O L! And the dogs I have now aren’t water dogs like the others were!
