Blazing heat, smoke-filled skies, illegal! What could possibly go wrong?

45° right now Mr Chucky, almost cold enough to start working on that darn wood pile again!

Lost power last night around 8:30 for a couple hours, was a good tune up for what's coming. Some unfortunate hit a pole earlier in the day & they had to replace it

I'm going to look into a generator, I had a gas one when I lived in New Hampshire but I've been looking at those solar panel ones, I know nothing about them except they're expensive

I have Southern exposure on the back of the house all day so I think solar would work well here

We lose power for a few days a couple times each winter, don't much matter to me, I put the food (food is code for beer) out on the deck in a cooler packed w/snow and have water aside and cook in the wood stove etc.

I love the winter, I love blizzards, it's in my New England blood, just like the ocean. (I may be mental sick)

Yep! But how many kind of varies from year to year! Sometimes tons! Sometimes not so many! Some people think you can tell about the severity of a winter From the acorn harvest! I don’t know about that!

I should start this by saying... don't take ANY reading advice from me..

My mother (she grew up on a farm in a VERY different time, VERY different world.) told me about how "nature knows when it's going to get bad before anyone else, she will take care of you if are watching."

She would, with a freaky amount of accuracy, predict severe winters based on a few berry bushes
