Borax As Surfactant?

Dish detergent, any brand, will do the job. Borax will be less efficient. If dish detergent offends you, you can spend more for less and get essentially the same product by buying insectisidal soap from your friendly grow store. I'd use either of those over borax. I use borax for curing fish eggs, so I'm quite familiar with it.

I should add, when I'm spraying, I always put a few drops of detergent in the bottle. It definitely wets the leaves more quickly and thoroughly

Once I found out that you can use insecticidal soap I often wondered why you would want to use anything else, considering the purpose?
