Great stuff Boss!

Got my first LED on the way and taking notes on your grow :)

Way to go BOSSMAN. I look forward to seeing them at the finish line. :nod

This is one of funnest test I have done.
And I have done a shit load. Posted quit a few.
But that still only maybe 25% of the tests I do.

Looking good Bossman. Looking forward to your results.

Thanx froggy.
Me too.

that HID isnt putting up much of a challenge

No it s not.:devil
I am totally shocked.
Though I have never really liked 400's or 600's. And then after the Foot candle test. I will be discontinuing them both after this run. If I use HID's they will be 1000's and some 1500's in the future.
And I talked to the guy at Quantum. They are working in the piggy backs. And possibly 22ov.
He seems a bit sketched about the actually choice of plants. But still has been cool peep.

The biggest thing I have found is I really like high % of large perlite. I had put 6 in there in the begiining.
4 with a 50% large prelite. mixed into my FF soil mix.
2 mixed the way I usually do.
The ones with the extra perlites roots grew atleast 50% faster.
The Led seems to be much less harsh on the leaf's and the time it took the none perlite ones to need water was not good IMO.

Those are some tight nodes on the LEDs

Yes bro I love my GDP node's. And the LED seems to have tightened them some more.
I think it is going to help make them big long solid nuggs. But we shall see.
I must say the Bad boy was not the right one to compare to this LED. Though giving it the proper distance from the light to keep it even has helped.
But so far it is Damn impressive also.
Though there is alot more heat do deal with. Where the Led room almost needs a heater.LMAO

Glad to see the test is back underway! By the way Bossman, I talked with my manufacturer and they said you can use a converter plug for the lights for use with 220V systems. You can also have an electrician change the end of the plug to 220V without having to change the cord. Hope that helps :)

Thanks LED girl,
That is some phat news.
I will have that done as they move to the flower room. It is setupe for 220.
And as for the vert. I am hoping to pick up 2.
Hopefully within a couple weaks. I think a vert test would not be right with one.
If you can hook up a good price I will run them in MPB's witch will really show what they can do.

Thanks all you cool ass peeps for the encouragement.
And remember I have only been growing 7 or 8 years now. And love tips from all.
Any input welcomed .

they say the badboy is already 220v, boss

just doesnt have a piggy back

For lighting two small plants in a 2x2 cabinet, the best choice would be 192 watts of t5 (2 foot bulbs in 8 lamp fixture). Yes, I'm a led skeptic.

This is going to be interesting anyway. Thanks for the thread. I'll keep an open mind and try and look for some reason why anybody would grow with led, besides that they are just kind of cool.

Send me a PM. I'm sure we can work something out if you're interested in sharing your progress with the rest of the forums :nod

I would post it up for sure. I am a firm believer in sharing info.
There are too many Products's. Nutes's,ballasts, hood's medium, etc, etc. So we need to share what works with each other.
And to me for you to step up and not only post your own grows. But to offer lights. Shows some serious confidence.

The Bad boy they sent me was 110v.
I cant complain.
:RastaBong:
Hi Bossman thanks for doing the test

I am semi pumped about vertical krusty/mpb tree grows using them and not scared to throw dough at a bunch of good led panels.

it is necessary to produce A+ meds that are as good or better than the 1k's i use.

Its too bad i don't feel warmer towards the social skills of the maker of these things ..a quality
which i believe to be a necessary component for me...

I was one of the people very interested in this technology and would shell out
if these actually work as stated.

I will be following your grow ...

I am planning to pull one off.
I am thinkink for smaller MPB buckets surrounding 1.
Or 8 around 2. In a some what of a XO pattern.

That would be great for that size space. But this 12 bulb is covering a 6x6 space with better growth then the 1000watt HID I normally run. :confused0054: But they also are not ventible.
And the heat is much more then a 400 hid. more like a 600 HID.
And the LED has in comparisin 5% the heat.
That is just a guess but in a huge diirence.
HAve you gone back and looked at the grows on the other forums with these Leds. Some very impressive results. I just hope I can pill the same results.

I transplanted all the testers today.
Into three gallon pots.
I wanted to get root picks. But just spent the weak in the hospital. And just made it through what had to be done.
So the the Bad boy girls have the healthier leaf looks.
But only the second best root's there were a good amount but not great.
The Hid had the least pretty leaves and the least pretty root's. WTH
The Led leafs just look slightly off on the GDP. But is still very pretty. Her roots are the best. She had twice as many roots as the Bad boy. And they were real thick with insane feeders. So I am expecting her to blow the hell up once she reroots in the 3 gallon.
I will start some bondage on them tommorow and get picks.

Update Update,

This has been what I have done so far.
All girls are grown in FF soils. 40% light warrior. 40% Ocean forest. 20 % large perlite.
I have been keeping all the girls very close to the light's.
To keep them short.
Transplanting has been done before the root's fill in the pot. And before any verticle growth spurts.
Again to keep them short.
This way they will have a big root system.
Today I did some bondage on them.
So they will be nicely adjusted to the bondage in time for the growth to take off.
They will go to flower in 1 to 2 weaks.

First 4 pics are the MK.

The rest are the GDP.
All pics are from left to right.

Looking good. I love GDP and miss my mother. Lost her to a slacker friend.

She needs tying down and training, she's so leggy.

Looking good!

I'm lovin how how bushy the one under the LED is! Looks like tighter nodes too :)

Can't wait to see what happens during stretch.

What are your thoughts on "Lumen Shock"? Do you think that rooted clones could take the LED at optimum height right on the first day? What would you recommend?

Keep rockin man :)

Thanx bro,
I am big into the bondage for the GDP.
She already produces great resin. So I am exited to see if the LED gives her more. Witch I really think it will.

Thanx Pandamen,
The Led really does grow some tight nodes and thick bushy growth.
For Clones I really thought it was soft enough to just put them under also.
But the light is a lot more intense then most would think.
The first clones I put under a 12 inches away did not like it at all.
So the next ones I started at 18 inches and slowly raised them to 12 inch's.
And they love it!!!!
They are on the sides of the 2 tester plant's.
But now that I am spreading the tester's open there will not be room for the clones soon.
So far i am very impressed with the LED.

Looks exciting, have LEDs really come this far? I know LED girl has some v promising units much better compared to thise Stupid UFo's... they really are a waste of money.. Peace Bossman

G81

So far it looks like HID and LED tie and the badboy cleans up..

If the finished result is even near the same with the hps and the led I think all my questions will be answered,,,,except,,,I wonder if my bank would finance a couple leds for me????...jokes

Hope I'm replying right, when the results are in my questions will be answered,,,except,,, will my bank :cash finance :cash me for a couple of those led lights??? jokes

talkin with a friend we were discussing the led/hps effect so far and we thought for a sec that the hps will probably do better in flowering than veg as he uses mh for the veg stage and then switch to hps just before starting the flowering,,,any thoughts on if that would make a difference and if so how much difference??

G81

So far this Led really does kick arse.

So far it looks like HID and LED tie and the badboy cleans up..

What up bro,
I have big doubt's on how the Bad boy will do in flower.
It kicks arse in Veg though. I still think the Bad boy is in a different category then the LED. It has a bigger foot print. It is actually lighting a 6x6 area in my Veg room.
But the heat it put's out makes it a lot less friendly for tent or cabinet grow's.
Atleast my HID I can vent.

If you find a bank to finance your lights let me know.
I want to do 4 Vert Leds to test in my MPB room.
Could use some financing myself.LMAO

May i ask questions...?

1.each light has one plant under it?
2.Are the hps, led,hps each capable of covering the same sq ft area?

thankyou for this test
i am ready for this if it works well

What up Northone.
Each light has 2 plant's under it. 1 Master Kush. And 1 GDP.
The LED has 3x3 coverage. The Bad boy 6x6.
And the 400watt 5x5.

Hope I'm replying right, when the results are in my questions will be answered,,,except,,, will my bank :cash finance :cash me for a couple of those led lights??? jokes

I am a MH vegger also.
And the 400 does have a MH bulb untill flower.
The Bad boy also has different bulbs for veg then flower.
