After viewing many threads I've decided U.C,. is the way to GO!

I been at this for 11+ yrs and now i would like to try something larger...

15x30..... maybe split rooms and allowed 24 plants here. Some mini split a.c. and separate dehumidifiers.

Just need guidance on the uc system. I was also thinking of a a/b side by side comparison of the cc vs elite hydro since its all in the budget. was thinking 12, 1000's on a flip, bi monthly rotation... 12 plants per room. Im sure you get the picture just really looking for some spacing/system advice and maybe reflector or vert bulb advice on how to maximize this.... thanks much and yes i'll be posting the whole build as i roll.

Someone please correct me if im wrong im thinking it'd be best for you to do some mini trees instead of some big ass trees if your looking for yield. Imvho it seems easier to get more yield growing mini trees instead of some massive ass trees that your relying on putting out alot of weight, with so many variables to go wrong, especially if its your first run in the uc

Thats very good input, unfortunately in our state, we are limited by numbers, ive been hittin off smaller trees for yrs, at least 10k watts worth on the regular w smartys, co2 and the usual stuff. I do have some concerns about the uc being i have no experience with em at all.... never even seen one in person. lol

Positive thing is I have plenty of experience, even though the uc is a different beast. I also realize I can lose my ass. But thats kinda the game anyway. After much reading and looking at the different styles and systems people here post I have questions and things planned to help lighten the blow.

Funny thing..... Im def worried as Im bout to throw some real cash at this....kinda like 12 yrs ago when I did my first 2x4 flood and drain with some 4" rockwool cubes under a 400!! Classic stuff that closet... thanks much and im still in the development phase.....

Heres where Im at.... wharehouse in place. Apprx 30x60 ft of usable space however im starting with 30x20 sealed.

24x 1000's... some batwing/vert type combo.

Still working out my best option for a.c. Torn on 3x36/4x24000btu mini split or a commercial option. Already have a trustworthy source for install.

Trustworthy electrician available too.

Im kind of all over the boards on this....the uc setups...I would like to a/b two diff systems however im new to uc...
Was thinking about no t-bone split 9or12 ucexxl13gal systems so I can adjust spacing.
2x 1/2hp chillers are available as I can order whatever I need thru hydrofarm or sunlight direct. Makes it nice that sunlight is only a few miles away as well!!
The usual c02 and scrubber along with xxxcirculation!

Gonna take a few more days before I load up some start pics but its been a slow game being a lg show...all I can say is Im always open for discussion. Really hope I get a little direction from the pro's but Ive been reading like crazy every night!

Thank you for the reply friends.

Interesting. Was about to do the same and was all gung ho about UC but opted out and am picking up my first 50 Coco bags tomorrow!
Good for you for taking the leap though.
My license allows me to grow 25 plants. They will be trees with ridiculous amounts of light horizontal and vertical. 5 Ton Split, Co2 and Cana Nutrients. Am currently building the facility and once I make some headway will also start a thread. From all that I have read here on the farm I have to agree with DrCaliGreenthum that the UC system would lend itself better to staying with smaller plants. Either way, rock and roll, when the UC works the growth rate is mind boggling! Subscribed to your thread and looking forward to see some pics as we go along.

Thanks for poppin in BCf, I been super torn on this and I have many friends who knock it out with coco!! Pretty bullet proof now. I over the yrs have moved "tons" of soil, and for me coco would again have me moving stuff. I grow on the 2nd floor and I hate moving bags IN the home op, it never fit for me.....hahaha I also have a few friends that are re-using the media as well, and it seems fine.. I guess I figure if ima try something new, just get at it! GOOD VIBES on your project.

You said you were doin smaller trees b4 Im guessing 3-4 under a light, why would it matter now?
Im on the same boat with you still planning
like I said b4 tho managing trees like your planning is alot harder for the novice thats why chances are im gonna test em out before going all out
Gotta learn to crawl b4 you walk right?
Im leaning more towards mini trees especially after seeing This post

UCMENOW Said in an old jacks thread "Daniel @ CC has mentioned that their highest yielding system per light is the XL which they recommend 4 plants per 1000 watt.

Said people are raging 3+ LB. per lamp on the reg with 2 week veg times. Breaks down to just 3/4 LB per plant to get 3LB's....definitely easier for the more novice grower to achieve large numbers.....seems like less plants is better suited to the expert growers."

VERY knowledgeable poster, look around hes the guy you want help from homie
If your answer or numbers have changed UC let us know :hi

+1 uc btw

Good luck w/e you do brotha ill be scopin :bandit

With 24x1000... are they on all at once? Just go with two 5ton AC's

Dr Caligreenthum,
I usually do 2 10gallon plants per 1000 and pull 9-14 oz per plant. Most of which depends on strain type/size in veg before I switch. Some of my big ladies I'll throw 1 on top a 20 gal with my soil mix per 1000. Ive never hit 2lbs per 1000, but very close with a fine eye for strain demands. Seems i pull 1.3/1.6lbs per 1000 on average.

Ive had many single plants hit 24-28oz under a single 1000 (non vert) in soil with a little work...no worries

I feel my skill set has capped with my style, until I go vert. I feel more than anything this "one point" has pushed ME to my decision.

10+ yrs ago on overgrow Tom Hill started a discussion thread about 5-12lb outdoor plants being done with amendments, extra indoor veg, while paying close attention to the plants "roots" needs..... people literally burned dude!!! Said no way! Called bullshit on him. Only a few people said yeah its doable with the proper technique and posted supporting pictures. Then people said they could photoshop and load bogus pics too.....and here we are today, people are pushing the 10+ per plant outdoors, constantly, by the garden!

My point.. people are pushing 3+ mark per 1000watts (vertical) indoors, producing a "healthy and quality" product. Of course there are restrictions, GOTTA do multiples.... Used to be the canadians knockin out 2+, people said the same thing....no way!! Here we are today seeing people attempting indoor plants larger than 5lbs.

I have personal friends on here that smash big plants in and out, that have been telling me to come outta the shadows here.....I been real hesitant. Novice was 7 yrs ago. I agree that you can hit 2+ with uc system doing 4 per 1000....its a very nice system and simple by design. I agree I could start smaller. however my skill set and plant count just doesnt make sense for me. Remember this, the system remains the same, large or small...the difference in veg times i see are only a 2-4 week window, I plan on not skimping for proper equipment. I considered coco and staying soil on this too....
My concern is lack of uc experience, not growing experience or cost. Ima do split systems as it makes sense to sharpen my learning curve. Plus theres a few aces up my sleeve.
thank you for the advice and discussion, I do need some guidance.

BC farmer,
Im deciding to either split the room and flip flop vs straight up. seems to me straight up gives me the vert advantage i need. Thinkin 12 vert and 12 batwing spread out will give me the light coverage I desire. dual 5ton huh...

A close friend of mine that is a hvac/restaraunt specialist and mech engineer threw an idea at me today i liked...and then scared me...

A walk in cooler ac, with a high temp switch, and two drop down air curtains and group fans. Said it will knock the heat out in seconds and be super cost effective. 7 tons he said....hahaha the price was less than cool at best, only because a crane has to drop it on the roof along with a team of oregonians setting it while looking down at my plywood box!:hi

wtf!

97739, I apologize for the late reply as ive been busy with things.

I use a simple soil mix like subcool, only not as hot, I veg in 2 gal smarty as i feel they seem to dry quicker with soil in early veg. At 18-28" depending on strain I transplant into 7 or 10 gallon plastic grow bag, not smartys, as I notice no difference in bloom. I use bene's during all transplants. Give em a week and then at 30 days in bloom If I see roots full in a bag, I will stack a large plant directly on a another 10 gal bag of FRESH SOIL. I use cal mag and hygrozyme here and there.... then about 45 in days in I do the unthinkable.... go chemi! supernatural superboost, for a water or two and then bud blaster, for a watering or two. Then flush em and thats it. The plants just blow up with chemi's in the end for me. The reason I stay organic early isnt for flavor like everyone yaps about, only because its easier and I like how my plants respond early without stacking nutrients.

I stake em w bamboo and do some pinching or lst for particular strains. Nothing crazy or exciting..
I use a chhc4 controller and co2.

THIS THREAD IS CLOSED... THE NEWS FOR ME IS THIS....

FIRST: WAIT TIL I GET A RUN OFF MY HOME 2X UCE12XL13'S I ORDERED TODAY!! I JUST DONT WANNA DESIGN AROUND THE UC SYSTEMS TIL I KNOW THEY WORK FOR ME. ONE THING IVE LEARNED IS EVERYONE GROWS A LITTLE DIFFERENT

SECOND: START A "NEW" THREAD ON THIS RE-BUILD AT HOME AND RE-START THE WAREHOUSE SHORTLY AFTER THE NEW YEAR, ITS FRIEND OWNED AND COMPLETELY FINE FOR ME TO SMOOTH THIS LEARNING CURVE BEFORE I DROP SERIOUS LOOT. STARTING NEW THREAD NOW.
