Hi guys,
I'm brand new here wanting to learn as much as I can. I'm in California with my two brothers. To be legal we all got mmj cards. With three cards, we plan to have 12 mature and 12 immatures. We have an empty 9'x16' room available. It's empty so we can do whatever we want. Any suggestion? what kind of setup should we do? how many veg/flower rooms should we do? I like hydroponic but still open to anything.

I understand that this is my first post and I do not have anything to offer you guys. But, once I figue out what to do, I'll make sure at we share our progress with you guys

...yeah, first, welcome in the house and then i'd say that most here will help you because we were helped in our turn, a day will come when you will be the one offering help.

...so take a look around, read some threads, and generally get acclimated afterwhich you should start a diary thread where you can post your general plan and get help from the community on the different issues you may be having.

...a thread like that can become an invaluable tool for you to track your progress and to keep as a reference guide as you evolve your style.

Our goals is to be able to be able to grow different varierties and enjoy the fruit of our effort. I have been doing hydroponic for a while outdoor either with dutch bucket or NFT. So I'm pretty comfortable with this aspect. But the concept of growing indoor is brand new to me. In addition, with our compettitive nature and all the resorces available online, we want to make sure that we made the right decision when we setup the room.

So, our initial setup will be:
-One clone room/mother plant: running t5 fluorescent lamp
-One Vegetative room running t5 lamps with in/out vents
-Two flower room both running 600W HPS with exhaust fans and intake
-We will do ebb/flow hydroponic on all of them.

Questions:
1) Assume 6 plants/room what would be the recommend footprint size of each room? Since we can only grow limited amount of plants, we want to get the highest yield per plant as possible.
2) Will t5 lamp be adequate for Veg room? Just want to save some electricity and cooling cost.

Welcome dude..t5s are perfect fir veg..maybe 2nd or 3rd run you can invest more money in your garden and get like a 400w metal halideor something, but you may not even need it. Also, the plant count per 600w in bloom is up to you and your protocol. You can do 1 huge tree under a light or do 30 small girls sog style. With limited plant count you might want to do larger plants, though. Get those t5s up and get growing brotha :) happy growing

Everyone will just give their opinions and aspects, just rock out what feels right and work from there. With that size space, you could have one guy saying rock 600s in a horizontal garden, or you could have like the mad scientist saying do 1k double stacked vert bulbs with a U stadium w entrance.... 400-500% canopy of a horizontal garden. .... 10ps per double stack done right. Lol.

Do what feels comfortable.

welcome @Akaporn, sounds like you have good plan, the best business partners you can find"ya brothers". i would say you on ya way. research but get growing its where you learn the most.
