Breeding Lingo

I was wondering if someone could explain the nuances of breeding. Things like backcrossing (BX2 etc), F1, S1, and other lingo. What are traits and advantages/disadvantages are to be expected from such breeding techniques. Thx for the clarification and sorry if this has been posted already. peace

One more suggestion i can give you is, do an advanced search for the screen name Texas Kid. Choose threads started by him only. He has found some great info, from some of the legends in the community. About all types of things including breeding. Chimara dj short article.
