Today was the first time I experienced a broken branch from LST.
I added some ground cinnamon powder to the wound & the tried using the tape method however the branch seems to have wilted so quickly & I am concerned if the plant is going to make a full recovery. I am also not sure whether I actually did the tape method correctly as I was trying to be as gentle as possible

Well i'm thinking you now got cinnamon toasted weed. What strain is that? A photoperiod would of healed perhaps but a auto flower pretty much is stunted. A picture in natural light would help. I'm older grower and i've never heard of putting cinnamon on a broken branch? I've had cracked branch and just taped it up without any need for wound care. Yes i've seen folks dab alo salve on the cut.
I'd chuck it and start over. Sorry i'm giving you my truth, maybe someone else will chime in.

It is a photoperiod & the strain is Gorilla Glue which is in week 3 Veg. Unfortunately I was forced to use this "Blurple" light for the start of the indoor grow but I am getting my full spectrum LED shipped this week. With the cinnamon powder I generally use it as part of my IPM routine for the greenhouse grow so I assumed it would prevent any fungal infections before I tape, I also do know it does help promote root growth when cloning so I just went & sprinkled some on the wound lol. I really do hope that I do not need to throw it away, think I will give it a week or two and then make a decision? This is literally my first indoor grow so it would really sad to throw away lol

I've also never heard of putting cinnamon on a wound. I'd wash it off. Then, I'd tie up the branches and hold the split together with tape. I can barely see it in that light, though.
I was hoping the cinnamon would help it heal faster. So applied the cinnamon then taped now I've just been trying to keep it moist by spraying a tad bit of water. Will upload some better pictures.

Well that's news to me about healing plants with it. I get where you thought it would work on a wound. Yes i'm aware of the IPM with cinnamon. If it came clean off i don't think it will mend? A crack yes it heals so best of luck the plant will survive even if it lost a branch. I love GG#4 makes me sad for you but thank goodness it's a photoperiod. Keep us in the loop on how she recovers.

It did not break clean off however it was a very bad crack/snap. Appreciate the advice though & yes will definitely post an update on how she recovers.

It will recover specially in veg tape zip ties lots of support

Ended with 4 lbs dried

They are super resilient plants good luck you got this zip ties do need replaced when plant gets bigger very important to change them

So, I checked on her this morning & the branch looked even more wilted. I do not want to risk any further complications with the plant so with it being so early in veg, I decided to do a surgical cut & throw away the branch. I am hoping since it is only week 3 that another branch or 2 might grow? Will see how she does.
