Hey guys. I’m new here and thank you thcfarmer for accepting me. My first time growing and my new growing leaf turns brown instead of light green on top. Any advice on how to fix it please, gladly appreciated. I’m thinking it’s nutrient deficiency but not sure. I’m growing red runtz and it’s hard to grow they said. I’m also growing OG kush and that one came out ok. The second pic is my og

How far away is the light from the canopy? Check for bugs anywhere on the plant and in the soil. Looks like a leaf was eaten. Looks like iron deficiency.

Light is 18 inches from the plant and no bug underneath the leaves, I check everyday

What's your pH?

Flush the medium with water that has a pH of 6.0, which is the optimal level for iron absorption. Flushing the plant will help remove any excess salts or nutrient build-up that might be preventing the plant from absorbing iron. Within a few days, you should see new growth that appears greener and healthier.

What is your light output? What percentage?

Do you have a fan blowing directly on the top of your canopy?

That close and that %, I'd say you need to change something with your lighting. What type of output do you have, do you know?

The plant you showed, with the issue, doesn't look to be in flower either. Not sure you want it that high.

I'm no expert though. Let me tag someone that maybe able to help.

Runtz is only 9 weeks and two days and it’s not auto flowering. Still on veggie stage. I appreciate the help though… thank you 🙏

Yeah, 90% light output is extremely high, especially for veg. Coupling that with the light being 18" from the plant, I'd say you are frying it.

Again, wait for someone that knows a lot more than me to help you. Something is clearly upsetting this plant. I'd also make sure your air is not directly hitting this plant.

You mention deficiency. What are you feeding this plant?

Do you have 2 tents? I see one well into flower and one in veg.

I have two tents. I’m giving it cal mag and bloom grow. This runts grows up to 4 and 1/2 feet. Right now it’s almost 4. This changing color just happened a day ago. All this time it was fine. I have 3 fans and temp is at 81, lights off it’s at 77 humidity is at 40.

How much of those are you feeding it?

Is the runt an auto? Asking because 4' for a height estimate is fairly low for a photo, no?

Still think it's your lighting. Just have no idea what they should be turned down to.

Hopefully Captain can help you soon.

No runts is not auto

Okay. Well, the 4' is just an estimate. Your plant could get bigger. If you are limited in space, you may want to top your plant too. I'm not sure if it is too late to train (if you are unsure look up LST and other types of training). I think I see that being down when they are super young, but not positive.

Wait to do anything for someone to respond about your top leaves though.

How many watts is your led light? The target PPFD (light intensity measured at the leaves) vegetative growth is 300 to 600 micromoles, assuming an 18 hour light period, and 463 PPFD to 925 PPFD during the flowering phase. If you’re growing autoflowers you should stick to the same PPFD that’s recommended for the vegetative phase. That’s 306 to 617 PPFD for the entire life of the autoflowering cannabis plant.

The grow light distance for plants in the flowering growth phase will vary by grow light. It’s fairly safe to assume 18-24 inches distance for grow lights in the 200-400 watt range. Above that power level you’ll be in the 24 to 30 inch range.

Keep in mind a few modern grow lights like the Mars Hydro FC and Spider Farmer SE series are able to be hung at much closer distance due to the design of the LEDs. But this may not be the case for other brands.

Light is 400 and 18 hrs light on and off 6 hrs distance 18 inches away from the light

Do you know about PPFD/PAR? Do you use a PPFD App on ur phone or have a meter to measure the light intensity at the canopy? Once you test that ,you can rule out the lighting. Being that ur other girl is good, i doubt its the light. But u never know until u test. I think 18" is perfect @ 400w and I think 90% power is fine. So is 100%. When you flower go to 14"-16" 100% power.
