Ok guys I've just harvested my next 2 widow's and I'm going to follow BlazinDatKush's advice (he pitched it better and followed up with credentials lol). ..so I've took all the trim and frozen it wet and gonna attempt it again...My 3 biggest mistakes last time were not letting it sit for 20 mins with just ice after I put the trim in, water added was too warm and lastly I was way too rough with mixing ...I've heard good arguments on both sides using dried frozen vs wet frozen so this time gonna try wet frozen and follow the procedure correctly. ..will let ye know how it goes...Cheers for all the help. ...

The colder..the better...all the way around, colly. If you live where it is cold...take advantage of it. If temps allow it....leave the bucket of water outside all night....or if it's really cold.....break the ice as it forms....etc.

The best bub I ever made was @ 15F in a snowstorm.

And FWIW....no spoons here. I either use the "D" handle on a broken shovel handle or....yup....a toilet plunger. Whatever you use...don't beat that shit up and speed whip it..... go slow...yer just trying to knock the trichs off.

good luck

You can get decent results with dry trim, but wet frozen always produces a superior product, it is definitely the way to go if you can.

Ok 2nd attempt complete and colly isn't happy. ..mostly green sludge but did get some bubble but it was only enough for a one bong. ..so here's my process step by step. .Please point out my mistakes. ..

Bubble bag sizes: 5 Gallon 220, 73 & 25
Material: 25g of wet frozen trim

1) Put 220 bag in bucket and added a layer of ice, added some trim and another layer of ice etc etc until bag was full, in another bucket I had water and ice for chilled water
2) I covered the bucket of trim and ice and let the mix sit for 20 mins.
3) Added the chilled water and Started mixing with wooden spoon slowly for 12 mins then let it sit so trichomes can fall to the bottom
4) Came back and took the 220 out draining all the water into bucket
5) Put the 73 in another bucket and poured the water through it, pulled this up and feck all was there, and did the same with 25 bag and same result.
6) I repeated the whole procedure again but really bet the shit out of the mix this time but again got same results. .

So where did I go wrong? ?...its a headscratcher...

Dude......you have to LAYER those bags....they don't run/filter the mix separately.

2 buckets

first bucket = bubblebags .....Finest mesh on bottom...coarsest bag on top. The bags and bucket are dry.

Ice, weed, and water in separate bucket.
Agitate the mix.
Pour this bucket into the other bucket
The mix will filter through the bags.
Let it sit.
Smoke a joint.
Then start pulling the bags.
I use the kitchen faucet to lightly flush the trichs to the bottom of the bags
I then (lightly) squeeze out the excess moisture with a towel by wrapping/squeezing the bag lightly.
Then I take the bag and turn it inside out and scrape the hash off the bag carefully with a knife
Dry it for a day/two
Smoke that shit.

Want me to do a run and take pics...or do you understand? did you check youtube?

Fwiw...I run much more trim than 25 g per run. I personally wouldn't expect much bub from that amount if trim

Hey skyhigh...Cheers for reply. .I followed the procedure in this link,

He mixes in the 220 workbag and then extracts it leaving the water mix which he then puts this through the next bag size down in a seperate bucket and extracts the bubble, and again through the next size and extracts the bubble etc etc...I followed this procedure exactly....he got lovely bubble. ..

Yeah skyhigh it would be great if ye did a demo if ye had time...I know I followed the procedure exactly like the guy in the link but nothing like a demo...Cheers man. ..

once again you did not use one of the most important bags, 160 micron.
also your going to need a whole lot more trim to run.
practice makes perfect, keep doing runs and you will have it down in no time.

Cheers Fullmelt...I've ordered the 5 bag set so should be here in a week. ..I've another 6 plant harvest in 6 weeks so gonna use all that trim. ..I will say the tiny amount of bubble I did collect got me as high as a kite so I'm slightly pleased ha ha ha, and yep practice makes perfect. ..Cheers man. ..

the 5 bag should help improve your quality.
keep adding bags for even more refinement.
good luck with the next run.

As I said...the video approaches this process differently than I have historically approached it. Obviously, both approaches work. Here's how I do it.

My bags were made by my lovely wife. I've been running these same bags for about 7 years or so. I only use 3 bags + a work/catch bag. Mine are a 110...a 160...and a 220. (135/93/68 microns respectively) I describe the "work bag" below. FWIW...I had an 8 bag set on loan for a year or so prior to buying the screen and making these...and from that exposure I decided to forego the upper and lower realms and zone in where I kept seeing the smokeable product fall out.

I started last night by sitting a 1/3 full bucket of water outside overnight. It hovered around freezing and snowed 5 inches overnight...and there was a fine coat of ice on the water when I brought it in. To this I added 1/2 of the shake/larf trim i had on hand...and I covered that with crushed/cubes of ice. (3 layers...each equal in volume)

I then moved over to the collection bucket where I layered the bags....220 on bottom...160.....110...and bungeeed these to the bucket with an adjustable strap. On top of this I put in a paint strainer bag I bought at home Depot in the paint Dept. 2 bags for $5.

I then went back to the water/ice/pot mix and started agititating the mix with the D-handle of a broken shovel handle. I mixed all of this for about 10 minutes.....up and down....side to side....

The mix was then poured into the collection bucket. You hear the water draining down/through. I wait a minute or so... then pick up the paint bag and drain/squeeze as much moisture out as I can. I then grab the bottow of the bag...and turn it upside down and dump the mix back in the mix bucket and then place the catch bag back over the collection bucket (without getting any leaf in the 110 bag below) To the once stirred mix....I add just enough new/cold water to be able to slosh the mix around...and I again agitate it...this time though...only for about 30 seconds. Then dump the mix back into the catch bag..pull it and squeeze it again...and set the bag in the sink away from the good/collection bucket.

Smoke a joint. Then start pulling the bags....one by one. Drain the bag. Rinse the hash in the bag down into a "strawberry"/corner of the bag using a very small stream of water from the faucet. Lightly squeeze out the excess moisture by wrapping a dry towel around the bag/hash and applying light pressure.

Turn each bag inside out (I do it over my hand..finhers spread wide) and carefully use a knife to scrape the hash off the bag. I scrape onto a plate....and I let it dry for a few days...flipping it every day or so. I then jar it/etc....and smoke it.

It works well/I've been doing it this way for years...but if someone sees something I can improve upon..I'm all ears. I will say that I've tried many approaches...dry trim (makes hash more like pressed than bub)...using snow (don't do it), using more bags (takes forever to drain some of those bags)....have tried further filtering the spoils water finer than 220 (very little results/hash)////etc//etc//etc/. IMO....it's the WEED you use....and that determines the amount...the stiucckkkyyy factor....the color.....and the taste.

FWIW...this was Blueberry trim. This plant has never offered many trichs and is more about taste than frost...so the take here is LESS than if I ran some Uberdawg/Chemdog strain or something else that has tons of visible frost.
Even so...it's killer headies out of basic junk...and well worth the time/something I look forward to EVERY run.

Hope you can follow along with the pics that show the processes descried above. Good luck! Fun fuckin stuff!

Absolutely brilliant Skyhigh. ..Cheers for doing that. .I'm gonna follow this exactly next time and fingers crossed I get lovely bubble. ...I now know my mistakes so I shouldn't have to much trouble next time thanks to you and all the guys here. ...Cheers....

Glad to help.

Did a 2nd run with the same trim. Shit always freaks me out how DIFFERENT it can be from run to run. Run pictured above...most of the hash was in the middle bag. Second run......most of the hash was in the lower bag....and it all came out lighter in color...same trim.

Shit makes ya cough and bubbles like fuck tho....so >>>WIN!!<<<

good luck colly. You'll get there!
