Bud rot ? Is it still smokable ?

Hey guys,

I just noticed today that 3 of my plants have bud rot on their main colas, so I decided to cut the buds off and harvest 2 of the plants who were almost ready.

The rotten buds still look very nice and smokable to me, it doesn't seem too molded.

Should I keep and dry the nugs? Can I smoke them? If not, what's the worse that can happen if I do?

Well honestly even inside the buds it isn't too bad, maybe early stages of mold? A small part of the outer outer bits fell off, I'm gonna try to smoke it and let you know if I'm still alive after it.

What about making rosin with it?

Everything I have seen on these forums regarding bud rot is to simply get rid of the buds.

mostly he's right. definitely that last pic was a bad one. have a fan blowing away from you and a window open while you assess the damage. You dont want the lung infection. Trust me.

looks like he might have some salvageable. it will be tedious though. do a good job. green only.

Bruh. Nooooo. Toss em and forget em. You probably will also want new genetics. A lot of seeds grow these great big buds that look cool. But they rot. Over sized buds are something I actively avoid. Smoke the smaller nugs. They're probably fine. But bud rot is a sign of weakness. Like PM. It's time to make a call. Look on the forum for trustfall . (The guy with the cuts) get you something hardy. You will save a lot of headache.

Yeah I agree it's probably the genetics.. but I've got 17 different strains growing in the same tent, 3 got bud rot and 2 were hermies

We generally make shatter or distillate. Rosin might be funky.

if you value your health toss the bud and be done with it...smoking mold has serious side effects...google mold in your lungs before you smoke anymore...

Myself I wouldn’t smoke it just cuz it could fuck with you and even kill you if anything you got better chance to make some oil or something with it but it all depends if your really in need so e weed and don’t care about the health issues that could come with smoking it
