I do the best I can, and happen to live in a great place And get great results! But the bottom line When all is said, and done is, I ain’t no connie sewer! I am an addict!😂
"Connie Sewer"😆
I really stiffed myself when I decided to grow in this place where I live - we get about 4000mm of rain a year....
So yeah....RH is going to be problem for me...but we'll sort her out just fine✊

hey addict here to like chucky😂 i just add a heater to the dry room. turn it on for like a few hours per day, that helps bring the rh down.

I’m thinking you’re on the right track! And you’ve learned a lot! And after this experience, if you still can’t get that drying area under control, I wouldn’t be averse to putting it on a cookie sheet in a low temp oven to initially get rid of some of that moisture! Fuck the taste! I want to get high!😂✌️
Did that this round! Wasn’t about to go buy weed from the store when I got some hangin in the shed 45 mins 220 and you can smoke the shizzle out that hahaha! @mattboeser it will make your space stink though just a heads up.

Thanks man, I'll experiment with that as well - I have one of those small fan heaters so I'll put it to use in there and be careful to not take the temp too high

Looking for help on this please...

Blue Dream Fast strain, grown in a greenhouse with less than ideal environment - frequent temperature jumps up to 44°C and high RH, no LST, good air movement inside, 14/10 light cycle, Freedom farms soil, 7 ph, no over/under watering.

I chopped the buds and strung them upside down underneath an outside roof, no direct sunlight but ambient light. Have been hanging for 12 days days now. Temperatures between 22 - 30°C (sorry for using metric) and RH at an average of 65% but lengthy periods of 89% RH as it is rainy season.
Fair breeze moving over them.
Not trimmed, as I am used to dry trimming.

Now the question - the buds are slowly turning brown while hanging. The photos aren't great, but looking from the left on the ones that are hanging, you can see them brown, and greener towards the right. The left is where the breeze comes in most of the time.
The longer they hang, the browner they get.

I did not see any rot when I harvested, nor do I see any now (I might be missing something).

On the second photo (in the jar), you can see the previos batch that turned brown while drying (compared to normal).

I've been looking under 20x magnification, and can't see mould.

There have been some dry days with lots of dust floating about...
Is this dust sticking to the buds?

Mild rot?

I harvested too late I think, with trichomes turning amber...is this an acceleration of that process?

Smells normal, no mildew or hay smell.

Any advice would be sincerely appreciated!

(Improvements to the greenhouse growing environment are ongoing to get as close to ideal as possible)
Oof.... id bet its those times where youre at 80%+ humidity causing a good environment for types of mold and mildew to work its way into your drying buds. I almost always find mold in the buds when i get weed like this at my job (work at a dispensary). Be cautious, crack those nugs open and examine before smokin it

I don't ever want to steer someone wrong when mold or pathogens could be involved, but there's a couple other things that aren't outright bad that can get you brown buds. First of all there are strains that do it, but if things are off during the drying and curing with the gas off happening too fast or to slow, it will affect color. Seeing folks offering some good tips here. Now if I would just practice them myself... 😜

Chucky, I think I dated that chick Connie Sewer.

I’ve dated more than one! When I got down there and took a whiff! But I probably didn’t smell too great either back in those days! L O L! The evils of crank! So I guess we Both just choked it back and got on with the business at hand!😂 Obviously, the pre-Mando era! You youngsters, have it easy!

So I went and vandalized an old refrigerator I had standing around and rigged up an adhoc "drying cabinet"....at least that's what I think it is🤔😅
Two pc fans on the inside blowing downwards to get some circulation going and one exhaust.
Cleaned the inside thoroughly with hyd peroxide and some alcohol before I put any material in.
RH is currently 81 inside with fresh bud harvested today and wet trimmed (don't know if I trimmed correctly, but that's for another thread).
Will post an update in about a week with pictures....

Crank is a hell of a drug. When I lived in Texas everyone I met was either a former or ongoing crank addict. Taught me some good lessons in life. Was like sniffing battery acid

Yeah, about 15 or 20 years worth of it! Was one of the lucky few who lived to tell the tale! A lot of time and money wasted! Oh, well!

Worth a try! But it seems like you could accomplish the same thing By just hanging branches, and having a fan, oscillate back-and-forth over them! I guess it just depends, mostly on your drying weather! If it doesn’t pan out, there are ways to convert it into a smoker!

That's what started this whole thread haha... minus the fan though...so that's also being put in this week.
It's still raining, day three now....so I'm really scared to just hang them again...

I don’t blame you! Don’t have humidity problems here! Plus dry in a bedroom with a window AC in case the humidity does get high!

Sounds like he has tohave a dehumidifier in the process somewhere along the way! Might have to resort to the old oven unfortunately! Not something you really want to do but better than mold!

yeah man nice, just have it a distance from the weed, so it just raises the room temp works a treat.👍

About
81 rh inside is way too high for drying, is that with the fans working ? what's the rh outside ?
About 89 - 93 right now...
Seeing as I don't have a dehumidifier on hand, I'm thinking about those dehumidifier packs that you sometimes put in closets? Maybe absorb some of the RH?
