Kullu Valley growing very vigourously.

2 males and 2 females, will make plenty of seeds for next seasons.

Mother nature is NOT kind. It's amazing all the gruesome ways bugs kill bugs.
There is kindness as well in nature, but yeah she can be very very tough.
Here's some cuteness.
Love those kind of videos.

Just saw some videos about hurricane Helene in Carolina and the rest of southeast...yeah nature is creation and destruction.

Look at all those parasitic wasp that will hatch soon. Only hornworms I don't remove.
I had to remove it cuz a couple of these hornworms will devour a plant in days....I just pluck it off and toss it in the woods.

I knew the little eggs were some type of wasp, but interestingly though, what I didn't know was that the eggs are actually feeding inside the skin of the worm. Def wierd.

When I first started gardening years ago and found one, I cut my entire tomato plant down and wouldn't eat any of the tomatoes. Was convinced those worms would end up in my belly. 🤣🤣🤣

Now that I understand what is happening, I never kill one that I find that has been parasitized, even if it is on one my tomatoes. The wasp take over pretty quickly and slow the worms down. Definitely wouldn't leave one on my cannabis plant though regardless of how slowed down they are. I'd move it, like you did.

Here's some on a host that is much smaller. The eggs must be outside because they can't fit in such a small victim. They are still attached though. There is a tiny piece of "thread" connecting the eggs to these small cabbage worms. Those things are worse than the hornworms in my garden, which is hard to imagine.

Big fan of parasitic wasp. They kill my worst garden pest.

Smallest Grasshopper I've ever seen

Another one of these praying mantis with an elongated abdomen

Still haven't looked it up. We have several species that were introduced for various reasons over the past century.

The whole interplay of insects and their environment is fascinating. Which is why I try to avoid spraying.
This summer after I started spraying Grower's Ally fungicide I noticed fewer beneficials. Then, I spotted a couple of them eating each other. I didn't get a pic, but I saw a spined soldier bug sucking on a lady bug larva. 🙁

It is a very fine line, balance, and dance. When we spray, we interrupt it all. I admire people that use nothing; I'm not there yet though. I'm assuming because I spray (organics mainly), I am putting a kink in things and the balance becomes thrown off. It's usually not thrown off in the beneficial insects favor in my yard either.

I will say since using the citric acid and h2o2 (gave it another try), I'm seeing my beneficials more and seeing less pest. Assassin bug nymphs have returned, along with ladybugs and spiders. Not sure if it is a coincidence, but thought I'd share. Not sure if the whey had kept them away, but I wasn't seeing them while using the whey.
