Buds turning brown, inside looks okay.

It's been a little foggy this week, but mostly it's been hot and dry. Went out of town for three days, came back to a bunch of the buds having big brown sections. I clipped off the top of one (photo 2) and it's still very green in the center. Some pull apart easily, but others don't. Didn't see any caterpillars. Is this bud rot or being caused by insects (or me)? Thanks!

Pic 2 shows the bottom half of your trimmed bud which looks ok for now but you need to keep an eye on it. Pics 3&4 are definitely bud rot (not you) and you should toss.

As bad as that is, I'd toss out the whole thing. Even the parts that look good are infected.

Thanks everyone. I'll go ahead and harvest the ones that weren't affected, was getting close anyways. Such a bummer. Growsince79, even if I harvest now I need to throw out the whole affected bud right?

Could I harvest them, cut off the rot, and dip them in a hydrogen peroxide solution to potentially kill the spores?
