So I got two clones of Crown Royale few weeks back, one never made it outta the solo cup. This one did. Have had some real weird issues with this plant that I haven't faced in previous grows.. idk if clones just tend to grow differently? Or if it's genetics of this particular seed? Anyways... Go to water it today and notice this tiny little "specks" on quite a few of the fan leaves.. I have yet to have any sort of bug issue with any of my grows so far. I'm typically VERY conscious of keeping the grow area, area I water them, and myself/hands as sterile and clean as possible. But I remember when I first got these two clones, I put them in my small 2*2*4 tent away from my other already mid-flower plants so they weren't under sucha intense light and different light schedule. And like a week later when I went to open the tent was hit with a ton of these "fruit fly" looking bugs.. ended up hanging fly ribbons everywhere and after a week or so, problem seemed to go away. But am starting to think I possibly never got rid of the problem at all, which is now what's causing these "specks"... I've done some research on different bugs, how they look, what to look for, etc. But figured I'd get a few other's opinions as well. My growing buddy put his two weeks in at our job about a month ago and moved onto a better job/position. So I no longer have someone to bounce things off of daily lol. I read on quite a few sites and forums that a tiny bit of dish soap in a spray bottle would help. So today when watering the plant I misted it with a VERY light mix of dish soap and water and have been letting it sit outta the tent for about an hour now(maybe I'm being too cautious or overthinking things, but figured I'd at least let it drip dry before putting it back under the light to prevent any sorta burning). I'm sure these kinds of questions have been posted multiple times, it's just hard to compare what I see online to real life sometimes lol. And as a side note, they're only on the tops of the leaves. Have only seen one leaf with specks on the bottom. And have also trimmed quite a bit, including leaves that had specks that I could see. Any input is incredibly appreciated!

Definitely looks like bugs. If you have a magnifying glass of some kind or the ability to take a closer picture of one of them then that'd probably help others with identifying. That first pic almost looks like two different bugs one that is more round and yellow and one that is white with a fat butt that tapers to it's head. Unless that is the same bug at different stage of its life cycle.

I always, repeat always, quarantine clones from other peoples gardens for this reason. If you haven't you should isolate this from the rest of your plants and pay close attention to your other plants. Hopefully they haven't contaminated the rest of your garden.

Yeah. Looks like aphids in the nymph and juvenile stages on the leafs. And the flying bugs are the adults, laying more eggs. Lady bugs will eat them. Or like @Ponky said, kill them with fire

If you get a fresh cut you might aswell dip the whole thing in bleach or peroxide. Or both. And pesticide it. And then plant it. If it can't handle that you don't want it's weak bloodline messing up your village anyway.

Sorry for the late response everyone! But I was afraid I'd get these kinda answers.. lol. Hopefully I didn't mess the plant up, but ended up spraying it down with a tiny bit of dish soap and water(read on quite a few places that it could help?) Then let it drip dry, spray again, let it drip dry before putting it back under the light. Did that on Saturday before posting this. Checked on it today and hard to tell if it's any better/worse... I also ended up clipping a bunch of leaves that had more of the bugs than others(was due for a trim anyways) but I wanna say it looks better(knock on wood) I did the same "treatment" with the dish soap and what not and also watered it since she was pretty dry. Unfortunately I'm stuck waiting till at least payday which is Friday, before I can go out and buy any sorta pesticides.. so figured the dish soap would be worth a shot. But any recommendations for pesticides would also be wicked appreciated! Also, after getting the pesticide, I assume you spray the plant down. But do you let it drip dry or keep it away from the grow light? Or is it okay to put back under without any burning? Do you eventually spray the plant down with just water to "remove" said pesticide to avoid bad taste/smell later down the road? Or does it all depend on the product being used? Sorry if this is a very rookie thing to ask lol. Like I said, first time dealing with any sorta bug issues. I also don't have access to any seeds or more clones of this strain so I really don't wanna lose the plant. Have tried cutting my own clones, but can't get them to root(don't have the gel) no matter what I do. Have tried cutting clones multiple times and have only ever gotten one to actually root.. maybe I'm doing it wrong🤷🏻‍♂️ different topic for a different post tho lol. I can't thank all of you enough tho for all of the quick responses! As much as these types of issues can suck, the learning part of it is half the reason I enjoy it so much. Other half.. well, I'm sure you all know why😂💨

This is what I have to look at my bugs....

If you plan on making growing again (and again, and again, and again...) it will come in handy again, and again, and again...

Dish soap is not good because it does not wash off the plant as easily and can block the leaf pores and the plant will suffocate, just like the bugs. YES, rinse it.

Makes sense. Was wicked hesitant to spray the mixture on it honestly lol. And was sure to only put a tiny bit in. But will definitely be getting a "shower" with just regular water probably this weekend when I have time to really focus on it

If you simply shower the plant, youll knock em off but..... theyll be back (terminator voice)

Take it from this unhappy camper, i showered her after spraying a diluted soap and neem mixture, it burnt the leaves and the bugs but when my dumb ass didnt treat the bags of soil which contained the pests, i reinfested by top dressing and they came back, just seen two yesterday.

To end my rant, buy some good shit to kill now, treat it properly the 1st time or youll just be mad a week or two later when you see those little trashbags again. Try spinosad or castille soap and neem oil, allow to sit in the dark period and wash off the residue 20 mins before lights come on, MAKE SURE you spray the treatment in the dark and MAKE SURE you rinse the residue off like 20mins before lights are to come on. If you do that and then repeat like 4 days later, i think youll run them outta town. Just add some dry neem into top soil and water in to also kill anything that may have fallen into soil. If you have a spray bottle ready with just water in the tent, do it all there and dont move out of tent, make sure when you rinse residue off and prepare for lights to come back on that you have good air flow so that the water mostly drys before lights on so droplets dont scorch your leaves.

😎🦅

Get yourself a hand held microscope, a bottle of Neem Oil, and an atomizing pump sprayer. Mix your Neem per directions on bottle with a drop or two of dishwashing detergent. Spray your plant(s) top to bottom as well as the leaves undersides. Turn your lights off or way down for this until they are dry. Throw a fan on them to expedite. Repeat this process in one week to get the ones that were protected in eggs but have since hatched. Do you want to get this under control while your plants are still in veg. You don’t want to be spraying your buds. You’ll be surprised by what you see crawling around on your leaves. One thing for sure...bugs do not go away without intervention and even then, sometimes the best you can do is just control them. If you don’t control them they will control you!

So I basically did a mini combo of the last two comments, aside from the Neem oil (currently waiting on it to be delivered). But sprayed it with the dish soap mixture, let it drip dry. Sprayed again, let it drip dry. Let it sit without the light for like 30-45 min. Then gave it a few days, did the same thing on Wednesday. And just went to check on it today and am quite shocked to see that there's practically no bugs left on the leaves. There were still a few leaves with a few bugs. But nothing compared to what it was. But I took it out to really rinse the plant off, just to be sure no soapy water was left on it. And honestly looks healthier now than it did before🤷🏻‍♂️ I still want to do a round with the Neem oil when it comes in, just to be sure. And I'm glad you guys mentioned the top of the soil. That was going to be my next question lol, do I flush the whole pot? Do I scoop the top layer out? Or just spray the top soil just like I did the rest of the plant?

So after a few rounds of just dish soap/water and also vegetable oil/soap/water, I finally was able to get some actual Neem oil. I took pretty much every single precaution I think I couldve possible done, really took my time to make sure bottle was warm, shaken plenty of times.. and also made sure it wasn't in direct light for at least an hour(waited two just to be sure lol). Now, I'm not completely naive, I expected some negative effects after all the treatments and such. But would really like to intervene (while also not disrupting the Neem oil from doing its job and killing the pests) if possible as I'm already starting to get nervous lol. Was sprayed down last night and maybe got an hour ish of light before lights out. Made sure fans were pointed towards the plant to help it dry and what not. And this is how it looks as of now(roughly almost 24 hours later) Like I said, definitely expected some leaves to wilt and curl. But seeing a bit more curling, as well as leaf edges turning brown, than I'm comfortable with lol. I don't see any sorta "spotting" or burn marks on the plant. Mainly just curling and browning..
Just to sum up info... Used Bonide Captain Jack's Neem Oil(RTU).. shook thoroughly throughout spraying.. made sure to run bottle under warm water before hand.. even sprayed the first few sprays into sink just in case nozzle had unmixed product.. no light while sprayed.. given two(ish) hours to dry.. And also, was just watered/fed few days ago(using plain ol Coco Peat and adding nutes as needed. And is in 5 gal bucket)
