Buy another 100w LED or go for a 350/400 light?

Currently growing with a 100Watt Spider farmer LED. But thinking of adding another light in there, another 100W making it 200W in total, thinking it would be beneficial because I can raise each light according to the growth of that particular plant (Growing 2 x White Widow Autos) but I am also thinking of using the 100W for seedlings/veg and just going all out and buying a 300/400 watt LED.

Current setup: Spider Farmer 60x60x120 tent with 100w SF1000

What would people's opinion be? 2 x 100W or go for the bigger light?

TIA!

Me personally I would buy the larger light and maybe start up another project with the 100w.

Would you also just grow one plant in this tent? It seems a little small from what I am seeing. Currently growing 2 white widows.

I may just stick with current setup as it's the first grow, and see which one is genetically superior, possibly add a stronger light or another 100w light in.

Damn I am tempted to get another tent and put the light that comes with it in the old one and maybe try a 300w on the other plant lol

Basically you want 2 square feet of space per plant. It also depends on how long you veg before flip, Training techniques, etc. soil, coco, hydro etc. I do 6 to 8 in a
2 x 8. There are many factors that can determine how many plants for space size. I would start with how much do you know for a fact you need to produce and start working toward that. Research training techniques and how to build large root systems. If you're only looking for a QP or so a harvest. That is more than enough space. A 2x2 for most is one plant. You could get upwards of 1/2 lbs in a 2x2 if you train, top, super crop, lollipop etc. If you need more assistance just message me

Hi Leroygreen!

Sorry to get in the middle of the conversation, but I have similar question. I have a 80x80x170cm growing tent with 150w TS1000 from Marshydro. Do you think I should go for another 100w, I am thinking on Spided Farmer SF1000 100w.?

I am growing in straight coco and will soon transplant them for a 5gal fabric pot.

Thank you🙏🏽

I would definitely add more. I use lights that are rated for larger space than what I grow in. So my 2x4 spaces I try and shoot for 300 plus watts mainly for purpose of knowing my space could change and want lights that I can upgrade around the light. Plus a little extra ppfd/DLI isn't going to hurt. I get my dli in 11 on and 13 off so saves pinch of energy.

Is it ok to mix 2 different intensity lights? Or should it match in intensity?

I am afraid of frying them in such "small" place. 😅 but at the same time would definitely love to have a slightly bigger yield.

If I had that size of tent and wanted to get a bigger light, I would also get a bigger tent.
Maybe a 3x3 or 4x4 but something at least 6 feet high. Even another 2x2 at 6 feet would do a lot, that extra 2 feet in height makes all the difference.
Plants are going to stretch 2x-3x their height when they transition to flowering.

I would keep the current light in the 60x60x120 (2x2x4) for seedlings and early veg (maybe all of veg) and then move them to the bigger tent with higher wattage light for late veg and flower (or just flower).

You will always have a tent to start a new grow in before the plants in the bigger tent are harvested.
If you time it right, everytime you harvest the bigger tent you would have more plants ready to move from the smaller tent into the bigger tent so you would always have plants going into flower.

Smaller tent could also be used to dry.

Just something to consider.

im sorry you bought a 100w light. thats not enough power. youll want the bigger light preferable with a dimming knob so that you can set it down to the 100w if you prefer but also reach the levels that the plant will require

To grow badass plants you have to have the space, lighting, ventilation/climate, control and water/feeding down pat. And sometimes a lot of time! This is a real Colombian Gold plant grown from 1975 bag seed. She was in flower 20 weeks or better. She got so big and being a real sativa got leggy as hell. Tops and out laying limbs got bent back and tied off to each other. With lower and interior buds every bit as good as the tops. Pic was at about 5 or weeks of flower from set bud sites. If your in a short tent your going to be limited to badass indica grows. But there still going to require the same good lighting and other metrics.

Enjoy the grow and grow with the grow.

Just ordered this led from Migros. Looks promising and adapt perfectly to my 80x80x170cm tent :)

Should of asked for recommendations for the size light you want.

Don't like the par map they advertise. Lights have to be close to achieve decent numbers. Closer the light to the plant, the less area it covers.

I've been watching some stuff from Migro and I do really like the tests that he does. I think Sean is someone that has been exploring quite well the light field and I decided for it. Saw some mars hydro samsung EVO 300w by the same price, but I still prefer Migro 250w to that mars hydro 300w.

I have a 2x2x3 tent that's excellent for drying. I didn't buy it for drying. I thought I'd use it for seedlings and early veg, but it didn't work well for that. So, now I use it for drying.
