Buying my digital ballast on line.

I have to get 5 1000w lights.
I want to make sure i'm getting everything because in the past I have bought the complete kits but after pricing out everything on line made me realize how much they were making off of me.

So
I am going with this
5 Quantum ballasts 1000w
5 24"batwing or the Adjust-a-Wing Medium w/mogul (not sure yet)
3 mh blue bulbs
2 hortilux bulbs.

I think I just need the socket and cord from light to ballast.

Also is switching from MH to HPS as simple as switching bulbs or would I need to do something.

Also does it hurt the bulbs life buying it with the dim switch?

I just picked up 5 solis tek ballasts from igrowhydro.com and they rock. Got the dimmable feature in them. I was told to run the new bulbs at 1000 for a few weeks to "condition" them before stepping them down. You may want to check out the solis "ignition control" if you are running a controller. You dont get that big WHAM to your box with the sudden draw.
Switching from HPS to MH is as simple as changing the bulb. Switching from 110 to 240 is as simple as changing the cord.

Ya you might wanna check out the Phantoms or the Solis-Tek first. They seem to have better reviews and performance. I like my Phantom 1000W and picked it up here. http://www.thehydrolife.com/collect...antom-1000w-digital-ballast-120-240v-dimmable

get the LARGE adjustawings. Size does matter when it comes to reflectors.
