In appreciation for all the hard work everyone does here, I thought it'd be fun to show off a little bit of the project I've been working on for the past couple months. I can't really take much credit at all, because without a whole lot of help from certain people, and influence from many many posts here (I never could have run my wires without the help of the growroom electrical thread) I'd still be in the stone ages of just putting seeds in dirt and then doing a rain dance.

My new flower room is about 10' x 10' with 4 vertical bare bulbs and 5 DTW bucket sites, each with a 12" alita sintered airstone. I'm running 600Watt dual-arc bulbs. Medium is chow (coco and growstones). Nutes are a custom salt formula. Occasional foliar feed @ 1/2 to 1/4 strength. I also drench some of Capulator's OG bio-tea every week, if I remember to brew it. 18K btu AC with DIY vent box, CO2, automatic irrigation. Vegging under T5, for now. Conditions are about 73F and 75% humidity. Still bushing them out for another few weeks, then we'll see how fast the magic happens. The general theme here is, "Trees."

I'm...happy with the progress so far, although there's still a lot of work to be done. For me, though, it's nice to see a little root porn getting started, and to consider what the future holds.

Thanks, Farm. May there be much trimming in your future!

So it's been a couple of weeks. Time for an update!

I've spent a lot of time and money over the past two weeks to keep moving everything along smoothly. Except for a little bit of pH creeping up, I think from adding a bit too much tea (which threw off the drain res and caused some issues in my WiFi - now corrected), things are progressing very well. I put down some anti-fatigue flooring (save a lot of strain on my back), picked up an extra co2 tank (so I don't have to make a refill run every week), upgraded my reservoir from 32 to 64 gallons (so I can leave town for a night or two), hardlined a drip tray for my A/C directly into the main drain, got a veg room built out, and have been watching the girls streeeetch for the sky. I'm pretty amazed at how fast they're moving. It's almost TOO fast. I haven't even had time to get the next round rooted! Next project will be to build a cloner.

I also built a humidifier to keep RH up around 70%, and originally had it in one of those Home Depot totes, but it leaked all over the place, so I dropped it into a 32 gallon garbage can and haven't had any problems since. Hooked up to a Sentinel EVC2, it keeps everything nice and dialed. Once I flip, in a week or 10 days or so, there's a dehuey that'll run at night to keep a nice constant environment. Looking forward to not having to run A/C 24 hours a day.

With only 5 plants, running just 2400 watts, my goal is to get ~ 1/2 pound to 3/4 per plant. If I can pull 3 elbows out of this setup, I'll be one happy camper.

Update time!

The girls are all grown up and I had something like a 95% success rate with cloning, which is always nice. So I flipped the lights as of last Tuesday and everything is blazing through stretch right now. I'm a little concerned that the giant WiFi in the middle is going to hit the ceiling, but it's getting more side light than top light now, so hopefully soon it will stop reaching quite so much. I really have no idea what to expect out of this run. The whole thing has been quite a learning experience. Now...if I can just make rent and keep the electric on for the next 8 weeks...I might just get to see the final result!

Day 17 of flower. Just achieved vegetation automation. Super stoked. Been working my ass off. Can't wait to see the fruits of my labor.

This WiFi will probably hit the ceiling. Underestimated her stretchiness.

Looking good so far! I'm interested in hearing thoughts, from those running raw salts, on how to keep EC down and still provide enough food for a tree. This is my first run with salts and so far it's gone well and hasn't been any more or less work than using bottled stuff. Certainly cheaper. But I have my share of questions and problems that have crept up.

I am concerned about flavor in the end product, as most of my friends are snobs about "organic" and claim out of hand that hydro tastes, "chemy" to them. So, I feel like I have something to prove, maybe. Any tips on increasing resin production, enhancing flavor, passing the white ash test, etc., are welcome.
