I'm having some fun drafting a business plan that could be employed in a country where growing and selling cannabis suddenly becomes legal. The idea is to convert old wood modular units, typically 200 to 260 square feet, into a grow hub.

Lets say each hub has two flowering tents, two veg zones roughly the same size as the tents, and the remaining space is used for drying / clones / mother.
I'm trying to come up with a formula for how much yield a space like this would generate. I figured that the easiest approach is to go by how many ounces one can expect to produce per harvest based on the size of the flowering space.

So, what would be a reasonable yield range (from intermediate to expert) that a grower can achieve in one harvest from an 8x4 grow tent (for example AC Infinity CloudLab 894)?
 
So many variables. Strain, photoperiod or autoflower, veg time, light, enviorment, etc, etc, etc.... maybe 24 oz to 5 pounds just a guess
 
Indeed. I realize that it's not a straight forward question, and that there is a trade-off between quantity and quality. It doesn't need to be precise; I'm just playing around with an "economies of scale" thing, exploring whether multiple smaller growing hubs can be viable instead of renting / building a larger site.

What if I frame it like this:
- four large plants per tent (this is reasonable for an 8x4, right?)
- assume light / environment is optimal
- optimize all other factors for either targeting quality or quantity

What would be a reasonable yield per plant if we opt for quantity, and what would be reasonable if we opt for quality?
 
Totally understand why you are drafting some numbers. You are trying to see if reductions in economics of scale can be used to fund cannabis grow hubs of smaller size.
Let's go the other way for arguments sake.
.there are numbers in business that are pretty much rules. 25% cost of labor 25% cost of materials.
Working on a single grower should be able to run 3 of these hubs. That would give him 6 4x8 tents to turn every 10 weeks.
For arguments sake call it 3 months salary for one guy working 3 sites. Call it 90K a year so maf......20,780 for a 3 month period and based on business models you would need to spend less than or equal to this for supplies and power.
Every 12 weeks the 3 hubs would need to generate 82000 in sales with no additional loads on revenue
82000 at 120 an ounce is 683 ounces divided by 6 tents 113 oz per tent
Truly truly trim jail numbers.

I'd estimate yield per square foot and do the math. There are many more productive growers than me, but to provide a starting point, I just harvested about 4 ounces from my 8 sq ft (2x4) tent. That resolves to 1/2 oz per sq ft. Thus, your 32 sq ft (8x4) tent would yield 16 ounces if I were the grower. Fortunately, I'm not. Also fortunately, it's certain other growers would do better, but, then again, a few would do worse. Using that as a comparison standard, however, it's easier to see how much more (or less) yield would provide profit, break even, or lose.

Where I live, an ounce can be had from a retail store for anywhere from $40 to $120 (or more), so 16 ounces would return $640 to $1,920. Doubling that yield, to 1 oz per sq ft, would return $1,280 to $3,840. That would result in weekly revenue between $53 and $320.
