Thank you Mr. Munch! Lots of good information there and I truly do appreciate it. I have been crunching the numbers for growing medium and your suggestion could save me about a grand which to me is a lot of money, perhaps not in the scheme of this grow operation but at this point as fast as the money has been going out any pennies I can save is a great blessing to us:-)

My guy I ordered all the lighting from is pushing the Heavy 16 line of nutrients at not a pretty good price but I don't know anyone with experience with that product. When I used to grow I started using Peters (Jacks now I guess) and had really good results but went with organic nutrients for the sake of principles and had good results with that too but I think the Peters outperformed in weight and maybe even in potency. I felt better about doing it organically though so probably enjoyed that smoke the best. I will take all your information into consideration because I have to order all this stuff in the next couple of days at the latest and again thanks so much for reaching out:-)

about 50 unkown plants

I had 2 girl scout cookies a couple of months ago but they both died in the first week out of the cloners...not really sure why. Haven't got any more and I expect everyone else will be growing it anyway so not too big a deal hopefully.

This seems like so many strains already but it is just a drop in the bucket with so crazy many strains available. I did not "pick" most of these other than a few favorites, they were what I could acquire in a market place where I have no "legal" authority to have them yet so I took what I could get at a reasonable price and was happy to get what we did get. We are getting another 8-10 strains on Tuesday and probably should at least buy a few seeds of strains we don't have. I haven't grown any of these myself before except a couple so it is all a new experience to see what each one of these can ladies can do. Our plan is to have 5500 babies ready by March 15th....I think we will make it with the new cuttings I am getting Tuesday assuming everything I have in the cloners now and put into it next week roots out well. I plan on continuing to clone as much as I can moving forward because so many people that are applying for their licenses have to have had challenges getting clones together, keeping them going and healthy when there is no time frame that you can control and maybe I can help out some of my neighbors who will need a shit load of lady babies too. I should have thought about it sooner than I did but luckily (knock on wood) we managed just by the skin of our teeth to compile enough to have all our lights going when the LCB says go. Sorry my posts are so damned long:-/

All the things you want to know about are right here. There's a super thread on Heavy 16. Capulator has a thread on Jack's tons of killer info. Coco would save you a whole lot more than 1000 bucks especially when you can reuse it.

And you still need some OG's and some Cookies! I'd be going to the shops that carried those strains if I were buying. Premium gear gets Premium money! There are huge threads on these for a reason. They are the best! What's that? You got some White Fire OG? Let me see that! Man that shit reeks! Look at all that frost on it Holy Shit I cant wait to give you my money so I can smoke that shit!! Then tomorrow im gonna borrow some money from my girlfriend so I can come back and get some more!!!

You get what Im saying? I have 4 different Og's, a couple Kush's, a couple Cookies and a Deisel. When its ready its gone. Its what everyone wants and thats because its the best.

Ok Now for the big one! Your on THCFarmer home of the best breeders in the world! Its the dankest site! All the elite gear you could ever want. Rise to the top and grow the best. ;)

I totally understand what you are saying and I am sure you are absolutely right. We did get about $1600 of seeds and I definitely need to go for more especially since I am lucky enough to be here and I really had not even thought of that before foolishly. I am on it...will order on Monday and do a bit of research here on what is considered best. I already spend more time here reading posts than I really have time for but this is important. I have always operated on the premise that whatever plant I have I can help it get to its full potential but the times are different now, there are more strains than you can shake a stick at, and having what is popular has to be a good thing. Thanks much for the advice and I will try to make sure I follow it!

Have been so buy I have had no time for updates. This week is the final push to be ready for the final LCB inspection next week! Only 4 growers have been licensed so far in the whole state so I should be in the first 10 licensed it looks like:-) All that hoop jumping is going to pay off I think actually and that makes me very happy. Still have to finish 10 tables, set up our packaging area, build the small quarantine area that is required to hold product for 24 hours before we transport to retail, install the locking container in my vehicle that has to be secured for transporting product and set up all 32 security cameras in the next 5 days. Lots to do in a short period of time. We are on top of it though and I am even helping 2 other applicants with all their paperwork which is pretty time consuming. Here are a few more photos of our progress:-) Now back to the salt mines!

Hahaha! Those are no electricians...2 of them are my partners (one of which is my daughters boyfriend) and one is a friend which is evident by the beer bottle;) All the electrical work was done by electricians though to the tune of $15,000. Both my partners want to quit their jobs and be there every day all day long especially since they spend 1/2 the time playing seriously cut throat ping pong or some game or another on the playstation or Xbox or whatever they play with:-) I just tell them "patience grasshoppers....it won't be long!" Unfortunately we still need their wages each month to pull this off! Money invested to this point is right at $54,000 and that is because we do everything we possibly can ourselves, the only new things we have bought are the lights, bulbs, wiring, lumber, soil and insurance. Every single other thing is from Craigslist, Goodwill or some garage sale or thrift store or from friends. I spend every waking moment putting out fires and figuring out how to do all this, how to find what I need without spending more money than we have, and how to get it to all come together. I know more about codes, inspections, restrictions and every single road block that can be put in your way than I ever would care to know but someone has to deal with this stuff and for us it is me. It looks like a big operation for the most part and yet it has been a family/friends effort for sure and I cannot thank everyone that has helped enough!! I am very blessed:-)

Babies are going crazy...growing so fast! It is so much fun to try to manage a couple thousand little ladies actually and that is the best part of the whole effort for me:-)

I am serious about helping anyone else out in the future that dares to do something like this! It is very daunting but it can be done and I am a wealth of knowledge on all this now. I have to date helped 6 different businesses get their paperwork in order and helped them to see what they needed to do to get to the point of a pending inspection. I am just happy to have been able to help them. It is a learning curve for us all and I happen to be a good student!

I will be taking you up on that offer next year when the LCB opens up applications again. I couldn't apply this time because my felony wasn't QUITE 10 years old! :( BUT, it is now, and I'll be eligible next time around to do this awesome adventure!

Just finished skimming through the thread and WOW covers it ......first of many questions is how did you or were you able to grow so many plants to put in this new building you made ? Was that area put through all this bs to get started while your warehouse was being built ....I thought all the warehouse had to be done first then approved before planting a seed or rooting cuttings? ITG did you buy any seeds off the THCBAY? And what advice if any have you taken from thcfarmer? How helpful or encouraging has your experience been on this site? Hope to see more of your thread in the near future. Peace and elbow grease

I just typed up a big long answer and then with a keystroke it all disappeared:-/ Lucky for everyone you get the short answer.

I just got as many clones and seeds as I could afford and then cloned the heck out of them. I built 10 ez cloner sort of cloners with 70 stations each and I can put 2 cuttings in each station for a total of about 1400 at a time now. No that is not legal but the LCB did not make a legal path for us in this issue. We used my spare bedroom, my daughters spare bedroom, one of my partners spare bedroom and even a space in a friends house. We did buy a few seeds here my partner did that as he is young and more into strain types than I am.

As to the question about advice I found here? I did not get much that was usable and most of it was not offered in any sort of a friendly manner. There is a bunch of great information posted here but it takes a long time to read every post to find it. I also have found that there are as many ways to grow pot as there are people doing it. Each person thinks their method is the BEST and yet there seems to be no BEST way to do it, just lots of variations on a theme and you have to roll with what comes your way just like everything else pretty much in life.

I don't think this site has been that encouraging to me but I see lots of newbies getting great responses so perhaps it is just me. A few people here have been cool and say "you go girl" but it seems way more people say "you are going to fucking fail so bad and even seem happy at that thought:-/" There are a handful of people that have reached out and have been very nice but that does not seem to be the norm or at least not in my case. I wish I would have posed my original question differently but in my zealous glee at finally being able to do this all out front and in the open I was not wary enough, did not consider that this was a message board really and just did not even consider that there would be people that were not happy that this was happening for us here in WA state. It still confuses me a bit really....I would have been super excited for someone else in my shoes....but that is me and certainly not the prevailing outlook for most of the people that post here apparently. It is encouraging when I can actually discuss all or really any of this with someone else that grows but for the most part I have not found much engagement here.

I do appreciate the positive comments though and I said I would keep this thread updated so you will be seeing our progress as I can find the time to post it. I still can use all the luck and skill I can gather to bring this all into fruition:-)

I think in general most folks just think that your starting more plants than you can handle but time will tell, I do wish you the best.

One thing I'd def advise, is to give up 99% of your strains and stick with no more than 3-5 kinds and hone your skills on them in that grow space then play with multitudes of genetics...
