I find myself in a unique position because I have been in the world of growers on and off for years, I've even been the guy who was called in to modify the room or structure itself, even helped get things set up a couple of times. Been invited back into such amazing rooms when they are in full swing to check out what I helped to create. However as far as being the guy who was single handedly responsible for choosing the equipment and being responsible everything going on for more than a couple of days... I've never been that guy before, so in that way I am a complete newbie without a clue as to how to it all without others to consult, so I find myself coming here to learn from more experienced growers.
Thankfully I have previously ran an indoor soil garden, and drip irrigation systems both inside and outside of the house, so I know the basics of plants, pests, and all of the fun that goes along with getting your hands dirty. A lot of things have changed since I was around growers, last I knew you only had your basic HID lighting and a lot of heat you had to deal with. Now there is so many new types of lighting I'm seeing out there, and hydroponics like 'fogging' that I've never heard of before when I was reading and brushing up on everything all over again. So I really hope to be able to find growers who are able to help me learn everything I can to catch up with an industry which is changing so quickly now.
