Can i go from 17/7 to 14/10?

I will be putting my plants outside in a couple weeks and was wondering if it will harm them to switch the light from 17/7 to 14/10 to try to help them transition. Thanks in advance.

14/10 is on the edge of flowering for some strains, so I wouldn't do it to that extent.
