can i use any metal with propane?

My c02 generator cord with the convertor that is suppose to screw right into a propane tank doesn't fit my 100LB propane tank. It is the same type of convertor that screws into a grill propane tank....just my 100LB propane tank nozzle is a different size. Can I use any metal convertor for this?

Steel and brass should be fine.

I would steer clear of copper and aluminum.

yes I think brass should be good option , but if you use copper then there should be no problem at all,

I do not think they make copper fitting for gas,seems like it would be to soft.
