I'm watching alot of indie movies lately, dunno why maybe i'm getting tired of being bombarded with eye nauseating special effects and no good plotlines

If you're a true fan of horror give these foreign films a shot. The french are really pushing the boundaries of what can be put on film. They truly depict people in horrible horrible situations. A lot of these films will just plain make you feel generally uncomfortable even after watching them so if you think the movies you seen in theaters are "scary" stay away. This shit will fuck you up. I've had 3 different dudes tell me to just turn it off because they had enough.

Martyrs
Martyrs is a super brutal french film that has to do with ego death and the limits of the human body. This is my all time favorite film.

Inside
one lady is pregers, one lady has a pair scissors but wants a baby..haha it pretty much is the french taking an american horror staple (slashers) and taking it to a completely darker and more real and terrifying place. This one seems to be the film most of my stoner friends want to rewatch the most. Not as deep as martyrs but just as brutal, and the acting is 100% top notch. Great film to watch with friends after burning a few down. :rauch08:

Calvarie
This is one of the most disturbing horror films I've ever seen. Very well written and acted. You get the strong feeling of doom the entire film. The bar scene is one of the most disturbing scene's of truly insane behavior I've ever seen. If you're looking for the kind of movie that is so unrelentingly brutal and dark that it ruins your day then this is it. I highly recommend it to EVERYONE who claims to really enjoy witnessing legit "horror".

Ills aka Them
Based on the same true events as the american film The Strangers. Except this one is closer to the real story and is actually a great film. One of the coolest ending shots to a film I've seen in a while.
