You never tried? THC is not water soluble. In India they use milk.

I watched a news report on Youtube a few weeks ago that claimed the average THC content of weed before legalization in Colorado was about 2 to 3 percent. Now it's 20 to 30 percent. I can believe it. I have smoked a lot of lousy weed. I had my first hit in the 1960s. In those days, we smoked leaves, stems, seeds and maybe some bud if we were lucky and had the cash to get the good stuff. Does anyone remember seeds popping like popcorn in a joint? I do.

These days, I don't roll up stems and seeds, but I do add some leaf occasionally. It isn't so much about the concentration of THC. I do it to improve the smoking. Grinding in some leaf can make buds burn better. Sometimes I'll put some leaf in a pipe just to test how the plant is doing. I usually test as the first hit of the day. We also do a lot of blending of different types of buds.

So... We decided to test this idea. We're smoking a bowl of fan leaves from our current Barney's Farm Acapulco Gold grow. I'm happy to report that it works. It's pleasantly mellow and a very smooth and flavorful smoke. These leaves will blend well.

I completely disagree with this baseless assertion. Not knowing something does not make you a "16 yr old", I ask questions like this all the time about a lot of stuff, including the very question the OP asked. OP asked a legitimate question, there is no need insult them. Most likely they are a new grower and curious what can be used and what can be tossed.

With that said @mikkel , to my knowledge everything but the roots and stems contains cannabinoids. Based on what I know there are only trace amounts in the fan leaves so it's very unlikely that you will experience a psychoactive effect from smoking them. The concentrations in the fan leaves would be affected by genetics and quality of grow. There is also personal tolerance but I would say technically you could get high from smoking them. I assume that most people would have to smoke so many leaves that you would get lightheaded or dizzy from just smoking long before you felt "high".

I personally would not smoke them.

People communicate in different ways. I didn't take the comments as being rude as much as pointing out the obvious. A quick google check could have answered that question and, although you are right that this community is about learning, it gets old when you hear the same question over and over that can be answered with a quick google check.

As far as the question at hand, I've made weed tea. Disgusting but medicinal and didn't get me high. I've rolled them into weed cigars. Not my choice as a vehicle to hold my precious flower.

Could you get high off of it? Sure. If you smoke enough and enjoy the taste of burnt chlorophyl but my experience tells me it ain't worth it. Maybe I was emotionally damaged the time I bought dime bag from someone only to find out it was a bag full of crushed up leaves.....
