Durban Poison died, i still have a few seeds (somewhere).

PK is flowering looking nice, giving off a baked goods smell. Definitely getting a spicy purple kush smell in there.

Lavender is putting on a fucking show lol... she's stinkyyy. Really amazing range to be honest: skunky, body odor, dog shit, gasoline, and then a kinda garlic or culinary smell. Also she has pink hairs right now, kinda cool.

Island Sweet Skunk for the longest time was looking male so i sorta rid that one off. but now this week for some reason it's looking female the branching is really stretching up and out toward the light. Hoping to see female pre-flower.

Please forgive the low quality pics.. i gotta invest in a new camera.

Lavender: has taken on its signature Dill Skunk smell... and it's a strange odor and taste the Lavender. A little spicy lemony skunky and then the dill. I'm taking clones from her and will test something. This main plaint here will be going 50/50 on trichs ... on the clones i'm gonna try different stages of ripeness. early finishers and late ones. I smoked lavender at 5-10% amber and the bud was weak i think it needs to go longer to reach its potential.

ISS: great smell kinda like fruity citrus and skunk too early to tell tho... looking forward to this one.

PK: is looking nice was not impressed with her smell at first.. but now it's that earthy grapey purple kush smell. some fruity scents coming thru similiar to the (unknown kush) i grew last run.. If this PK takes on those scents even stronger that would be great. Smells exactly like fruit loops cereal.

Not starting to the landrace strain til next run.. just finish these up and get some clones established then get the landrace in.

Just got myself a new 400W ballast. No branding on it, i bought it from a craigslist type website. The info I got was: "the guy was a fanatic for growing coral, so he had to have the best" It has a coral light on it but i'm getting an HPS tonight. The thing is very silent I'm so pleased with it. I think my plants will really enjoy this new light...

ISS: is pre-sexing and looking female that would be SWEET lol. I think this plant wants to be a mother!!!

Lavender: This one is too good to let go.. I gotta grab some clones. tips on this guys/gals? how do i clone when it's already packing on flowers. Pink hairs skunky dill smell... this strain was nauseating to me when i smoked it and even just smelling this plant now.. makes me gag... so weird but hey despite the fact that i'm not crazy about this weeds taste i'm keeping her around.

PK: nice sized nugs... getting some new smells in there.. lemon pledge and fruity... wonder if this will stick around til the end..

New strains coming soon, better grow done properly. Once i get this new light running I'm gonna soak my Girl Scout Cookies and OG Kush seeds.

Have a ISS that i would like to Mom but i'm wondering something... just showed sex can i top and graft that onto rootstock?? Could i use the new grafted plant as a mom?

In the past w/ soil grows, I used tobacco teas to kill fungus gnats. Soak one can of cheap, unflavored, long-cut chewing tobacco in a gallon of the hottest tap water and let the water cool to room temperature. Filter it if you want, adjust pH if necessary, and use as a root drench. Foliar use is certainly possible, but I've never tested it.

One treatment killed every adult gnat. I followed this with a second treatment a week later to eliminate any eggs or larvae that survived. If you've had chronic issues with fungus gnats a prophylactic treatment once per cycle would be beneficial.

Point being, for $5 and a trip to the gas station you can totally eliminate fungus gnats. Nicotine is a perfectly safe, highly efficacious insecticide. I am puzzled as to why more people don't use it, especially the folks more inclined towards organics.

Fungus gnats also love uncomposted organic material i.e. coffee grinds. They also love wet soil. Nature abhors a vacuum. You will get re-infected if you don't address those issues.

Your grow looks nice. I am especially curious to see how the Lavenders turn out.

small update..

Lavender is outta this world... I love her.. :) I'll admit this seed came from a nugget that i bought from a dealer. So i'm working with a bagseed but let me assure you... I just smoked a bit in my bong, it is more potent than the batch i got it from so... lol. Beautiful weed, 1 seed was found in my 7 gram purchase. This plant Is approaching chop well you guys/gals know if i can clone anything?? or re veg i suppose.. starting to purple. I should mention for anyone considering to grow this strain, it looks to be susceptible to mold so watch out if growing outside, I would say monitor for mold. Looking to pull just under an ounce...

ISS I'm like a week in flower trying to root a cutting and it's going okay i guess, tips here? What a smell on this one so excited to see what kinda pheno i'll be getting she's hot that's for sure. I really do need to root a cutting so i can mom her. Gotta keep this strain around.

Girl Scout Cookies the little seedling is doing great getting a new home tonight and this one is going right to mom and i'll just take cuttings. For this personal stock grower it's what makes good sense. I'm almost 100% she's fem.

I feel like my plants are small, not gonna yeild what i want.. I guess because i'm sending them to flower right after they show sex. So overall I'm looking to start something new for December. want to get a little bigger. Getting Ciskei in and we're gonna fill the tent up with: GSC Ciskei ISS and a new face, still considering altho BOG gear sourboggle or bogglegum. I think scrog too, so clones to scrog, 400W hps. Not sure of grow media yet perhaps i'll try coco KISS.

Every plant being grown today came from bagseed, in one way or another. The best plants are yet to be found...people crackin' beans like yourself will be the ones that find them.
I had some Lavender in college that blew my socks off. Good stuff in those genetics.

so true man... and i've always had this theory that if u find bagseed... its destiny. the plant selfed or got pollinated and well that seed(s) ended up in your hands... grow that shit lol!!!

i just found nanners.. and fully formed opened pollen sacks.. guys does this mean my ISS which is 2 weeks into flower just got pollinated by the Lavender. I chopped the Lavender down i don't wanna take any chances. Where do i stand guys do you think the ISS got pollinated they are right next to eachother..

In the early 2000's there was a lot of skunky roadkill strains going around.. also some cat piss type as well...

ISS got knocked up good... fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i just randomly chose 2 calyxs and they have plump seeds growing inside.. what do i do? Can i take some cuttings from the lower parts of the plant? I guess i'll grow it out and then i'll have the lavender ISS cross, but question... will those seeds even be good?

It is highly probable it was the Lavender, assuming you don't see any other male flowers on other plants.
Let 'em be, a few seeds ain't gonna to hurt anything.
As long as you keep a close eye for monoecious (a.k.a. hermaphrodite) traits, those beans will be fine.
I wouldn't use the resulting plants as breeding stock or anything, but certainly worth growing.

Looks like my 2 ISS clones have rooted. I transplanted one into a bigger container.

The original female that is flowering right now (s1) was as i mentioned pollinated by the (s1) lavender. The Lavender has some tendency to grow nanners, tho with the crossing into the ISS the seeds should be stabilized and i think some real winners can be found. That being said the plant is loaded with seeds, in fact it appears this whole plant will be seeded.

In total I have 4 clones taken from her, I took 2 new ones last night. if i can cause one of the clones to hermaphrodite and crossed it with another clone is that a backcross?

Flower aroma profile:
Overlying: Fruity Citrus
Dominant: Grapefruit, (haze)
Underlying: Pine Juniper

Girl Guide Cookies

Yep, Girl Guide Cookies. I'm taking my S1 Girl Scout Cookies which was a bagseed and giving it a Canadian twist. In the United States there's the girl scouts and in Canada there's the girl guides. Basically this plant is killer already, it's just giving off this awesome vibe. Very vigorous growth, inclined for LST and other training as node spacing is compact and she branches out very early and fast. Dank smell from the moment she got 5 leafs and it's a lemon pepper spice smell. foliage is 'tough' this plant can withstand high humidity and actually thrive in it taking up the moisture in the air. One of the fastest growing strains i've ever had. I'm at early stage veg with this one, those are my observations so far.
