so i have some bio-char... collected from the forest ground.. from a fire that took place over 130 years ago. The char has moss growing on it.. smells incredible like the forest air. Question how can i incorporate this in my soil mix.. i have ground flax seed and ground pinecone as well.

I have mixed used (organic) coffee grounds 1/4 cup per 2 gallon. I think i'll add 1 cup bio char

7 seeds of ?Kush? bagseed. 1 oz of buds gave these 7 seeds. Searching for a keeper. parent was soapy lemon on the flavor. A little bagseed can't hurt. Going 12/12 from the get-go on these ones. Clones will be taken from each and labeled. When i harvest and find what i like, those clones will become moms. If any of them live up to the test.

Bio-char is good stuff, if you need it. Just make sure you sterilize it in the oven first to avoid introducing unwanted pests.
Soak some in water to see how it affects pH, although the high pH of wood ashes will probably be leached out by now (130 years in a Canadian forest).
I'd start with a cup per gallon and work from there. Although, in a rich soil mix adding more things doesn't necessarily equal more results.

For example, bio-char is noted for its effectiveness largely in part because the surrounding latosols (tropical clay-type soils) are so poor in nutrients and structure. Adding it to, say, the Rev's recipe or TGA super-soil mix would likely have minimal benefit. The soil is much richer than anything in nature and has great structure already.

I have tested the Island sweet skunk and I'm glad to report that I have a Banana tasting pheno. By the looks of the dried premature bud it looks to be a very similar pheno as the parent plant more sativa in this one tho. parent plant had no banana flavor at all, was all cherry. Good pic's coming soon as im getting a camera. the two clones are doing well... anyone in eastern ontario interested in running a cut of this let me know. Wanting to share this cut with anyone who'd like one. here's the parent plant and pics coming soon.

If ur looking for an organic nutrient u can run in hydro try nature's nectar. Very clean organic nutes. Five bottles total. Works really well but never tried it in Dwc. Good luck!
