Cannabis and farmers markets? Yes or no?

So, I'm wondering if anyone has gone to farmers markets to trade your bud for food and anything else at the markets ? Is that legal ?( I'm in Massachusetts). Also even if it is legal, if I might attract to much attention to the point of being booted out or cause a ruckus. I never been to a farmers market before but I really like the idea of buying from local people instead of stores, due to the food tastes better, and with bud I can use that instead of money to get good food. Any info would be cool. Thanks

I'm also in MA. I wouldn't do it, for the reasons you mention, and also because my local farmers' market happens on school grounds, which might trigger some of the more unpleasant aspects of the intent-to-distribute statutes. The argument could be made that paying for something with bud constitutes a sale, because you'd be receiving something of value in exchange. Maybe that's just me being over-careful.
