Nice read, thanks! I had a similar experience when I went in 2000. Some of the best herb I smoked at the cup, wasn't even in the cup! Some of the small, hole-in-the-wall shops, had better herb then the shops involved with the cup. I talked to the locals about it and they laughed, they understand it's just a tourist thing. Don't get me wrong Amsterdam has some of the dankest shit on earth, just have to look for it, like anywhere else.

i was in amsterdam back in like 96 or so i find better herb in socal particularly now with the med scene things may have changed in amsterdam though at least with indoor grows. there outdoor is always going to suck.

I don't think the Acapulco was crossed, just because like most real sativa's I have smoked it had flowered forever and looked like it could keep going indefinitely. It tasted like great Mexi sensi, but I am sure that someone is crossing it with an afghani as we speak.
so what are the genetics of SOMAS NYCD ??
I know that it was his Hawaiian male crossed with something a friend of his from NYC said was the sweetest tasting herb around, since the guy was from NYC he might of just had his stuff mislabeled due to the popularity of the Diesel name out there.

Never heard of them before either, but they seem like some true heads. They had jars of all their product, and unlike most the herb in their jars was from their seed stock and not the parent. They had a pure Sativa, a very berry Blueberry, killer skunk, and old times. They told me their goal was to preserve the chronic strains of yesteryear that use to be found in the U.k.......they were seriously impressive!
I am glad you all liked the post, I will update with what more I can remember soon. I really would like to organize a mmj cup here in the states, my state is the only one I believe that accepts other states medical card so it could be possible for many of you to travel out and still stay legal within the state......Maybe a snow bowl. I really think its time to start showing the rest of the world where the real dank is coming from these days. Any thoughts on that idea?

hi guys the Acapulco gold . i am almost 100% on this , was bred by me and i gave derry seeds from the original pursang haze x kalishnapple or mc
it tasted the same as my cross and i give seeds to derry from time to time ,

quite a few people commented on how like my pursang haze it was , also pineapple haze was a phenotype of kalishnapple , but i dont think they have that on the menu any more ,

The reason it tastes so dam old school is it was bred using the most sativa land race phenotype from the pursang haze original seeds , the out cross to the pineapple has unlocked or kalishnapple has unlocked the Acapulco .

Here is why .

uk pineapple is early 80s sk1 x Alaska from Jamaica
pursang haze is supersilverhaze x jack herer x northern lights thai special .
and kali shnapple is pre 98 kalimist x uk pineapple
Mind control is somas amnesia haze not the coffee shop cut x pursang haze .

so you can see that for the most , these genes are predominantly very old school and ripping the skunk from the crosses has left some with the columbian , mex , thai and jamaican dom pheno types ,
The strains I use dissect parts of other strains of mine if crossed in different ways .
so all though the acapulco is a hybrid , the only way to get that old shcool sativa . was to dissect it using donor sativas to find resesive traits .

i only seen it in the amnesia coffee shop and was very surprised to see a sativa that didn't taste of super silver or amnesia ,

ok may well be , but amnesia coffee shop often has my stuff as theres , seeing as i give derry seeds its not unreasonable to think it was mine , and they rename every thing . just like the mako is reefs and derry has confirmed he uses my kalishnapple and pursang so has soma .

it was not the best pheno type of that line any hows .... but the one sold in amnesia was nice and high

i belive the acupulco gold from amnesia is the exact same cut thats was entered as john sinclair by reeferman in dampkring coffeshop a few years back
i could be wrong but i highly doubt it
it is common knowledge that derry grassesd up reef and stole mother stock from him
the buds looked identical smelled identical but smoked not as good as the dampkring cup entry years ago
just my view

x18 or og 18 from katsu was very nice also swerves tahoe og kush
also my buddy truecanablis had some serious dank with him so i was mainly smoking his buds
i cant think of any other buds that were serious dank
i was smoking 80% hash as the buds were so shit
azzila hash from amnesia very nice
had a blast,great week meeting friends and smoking until 3-4 am every night:icon_dizzy:

Sonic, I am super interested in your tings, mate. It seems as if you are doing the type of breeding very few are, and if the Acapulco was from you or if you have something similar I must give it a run. We need more people breeding the old school, and finding the hidden gems of yesteryear which is exactly what the Acapulco tasted like to me.

Don't know about the reef situation, sounds unfortunate......Reeferman got grassed? If so that is horrible! Anyone who knows please let me know, I saw some amazing Love Potion #1 in full sun this year that had pink pistils up until a week before the pull down, super sweet and was from Reefs beans.
