Agree cheesecloth holds better but if you don't have a coffee filter works. I have found there is not a lot of material left if u grind with coffee grinder it seems to cook away. I also have used on top of stove simmer for 1hr or 2 works also.

I always use the biggest pot I can find, and add one pound butter to a quarter pound bud.

Simmer on stove top for 8 hours, the longer the better. Top off with water as necessary.

The boiling point of water is 100°C or 212° F
The boiling point of THC is 199.1 °C or 390.4 °F

So in theory if the THC is submerged in water, and you keep it at a light simmer than you can never burn your THC?

Thanks everyone for your opinions. Loading up my crockpot now with the 1Lb/1oz/5cups of water recipe. I really enjoy reading your feedback and everyone's ideas.

PS - I read an old version of Skunk magazine where they were discussing this old joint recipe, rolled in honey oil, made out of fresh leaves. Anyone know where I can see this thing and/or get the "recipe"? I'd like to make one for my husband's birthday!
